On my second go-round with this cartridge (and it was on a day that I had nothing planned, and it was on my day off from work; which was a plus!), things went much better. I was able to make a couple of the boxes (and ruined only a few sheets of paper), and they actually turned out pretty good. I would like to suggest, however (and this is just my opinion), that if you're going to use the boxes for items that are larger than bite-sized pieces of candy, it would be better if you use the Expression machine to do it; the size of the Personal Cutter and the Create will make the boxes relatively small (I know because I tried to make them on my Personal Cutter, and although they were a cute size, they weren't the size that I needed them to be; hence, my re-doing them on my Expression).
The directions that were provided (I will admit) are confusing; I had to re-read them quite a few time to make sure that I was doing it right, and when I was making the boxes, I still wasn't 100% clear on the directions, so like with almost everything else in life, sometimes you have to improvise; which I did.
I didn't have ANY of the problems others talk about!
I make cupcakes and needed a way to make boxes to hold them. I read the reviews for this cartridge and was confused and concerned....I even asked a question about it and wasn't crazy about the answers. Everyone talks about the difficulty in finding the size to get all the parts to fit (even if they love the cartridge they still say they had that problem). They talk about the trial & error they went through to figure it out. So I almost didn't buy this cartridge. But I just couldn't understand why the problem. My friend has a CTMH cartridge that has a cupcake box on it and I made that without any problems, why would this have problems?
Has anyone noticed that in the handbook it TELLS YOU WHAT SIZE (INCHES) TO SET YOUR MACHINE TO FOR EACH BOX, LID, AND INSERT?
My very first try it came out PERFECT!!! The box, lid, and cupcake insert ALL FIT TOGETHER PERFECTLY!!! No guessing...no trial & error, no wasted paper....NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER!!! I made the square box that holds 4 cupcakes.
I highly recommend this cartridge to anyone that makes cupcakes and wants to give them as gifts or sell them. The boxes are awesome and EASY to make and put together. Decorate them your own way, or the way the book shows.
FOLLOW THE SIZING DIRECTIONS FOR A PERFECT FIT EVERY TIME.....EACH ONE TELLS YOU WHAT SIZE TO CUT IT AT. For example, the box I made said 11" for the box, the lid, and the insert.
ALSO....they make great boxes for ornaments....the cupcake inserts hold them nicely :)

The cartridge has very good images. The downside is you do not have a guide for the scales of the cuts and the different layers. Read morePublished 21 months ago by Claudia Suarez
