This is a good compelation of Crime Jazz and is similar in many listings to the also reccomended Ultra-Lounge CD "The Crime Scene" but this has some of the music where you can imagine film scenes "young hoodlums hopped up on goofballs riding hot rods to hell and menacing ordinary people" sensationalism. Suave Syndacate men, tough Private Eyes, dangerous dames, fifth columnist commies, Vegas, addiction, and the terror of being strapped into the electric chair are all the parts of the emotional rollercoaster Crime Jazz can evoke.
PartII - CrimeJazz in the Second Degree is just as good maybe even a little better. Time to watch Peter Gunn.

Man, this is good music! A perfect selection of noir TV and movie themes -- I can't recommend this highly enough. I've never been able to find "Sweet Smell of Success" on CD but this at least includes one of the tracks. I've almost worn a hole through my copy, I play it so often.
