4.0 out of 5 stars Crime Scene Investigations

This is a great book with activities to teach young children about forensic science. This summer I will be teaching fourth graders about finger and lip printings to help solve a false crime scene.

3.0 out of 5 stars a good resource for schools, not summer camp
I run a C.S.I. (Camp Scene Investegation) program and Spy Training Camp at Girl Scout summer camp. I bought this book to help plan what my crime will be for C.S.I., what clues to plant, etc.

While it's a good resource to have, this book is probably better suited for more formal educational settings... school science labs. It's sure to make for some very exciting and engaging school projects, but it a little too school like for my needs (cool school, but still school).

I will use it for ideas of what my crime will look like, I'll just have to adapt the labs for a camp setting.

A better choice for the camp setting would be Detective Science and Spy Sciene, both by Jim Wiese. I've used both books for a couple years and find them really useful.

This review is from: Crime Scene Investigations: Real-Life Science Activities for the Elementary Grades (Paperback)
This is a great book to get younger students involved in science processes. Students really get into the activities! I like that there is not much work on teachers part. If you have older students try other book.
