The first title covers criminal investigations both on the scene and in the lab, with side notes on the (in)accuracy of the popular CSI TV shows, useful chemicals, and crime-scene types, from minor burglary to major bombings. The second book supplies information about fire watchers, "sawyers," "swampers," smokejumpers, and pilots. Both titles include simplified lists of specialized gear, full-color photos of workers in action, and multimedia resource lists.
