My Favorite Jory Strong story,
By
This review is from: Crime Tells: Calista's Men (Paperback)
Jory Strong has become very well known as a writer of highly erotic and scintillating love stories and Calista's Men is definitely one of her best works to date.
Benito and Dante are brothers. Their sexual predilictions run to sharing the same woman. It's a way for them to connect. However, neither has ever really wanted to settle down. But then, Benito lays eyes on Calista Burke. She's everything he's ever yearned for in a woman; Graceful, articulate, sexy, and oh so tempting. Dante recognizes her for what she is: trouble. She could tear apart the bond that the brothers share, or, as Benito hopes, she can make that bond stronger. Calista has recently become involved in Crime Tells investigations. She's investigating the death of a young woman but the more involved she becomes with Benito and Dante, the less they like seeing her being put into danger. As the case grows more perilous, the men will do anything to keep Calista safe. Incredibly erotic and very delicious, Calista's Men shines as a menage story that is not raunchy but is loving, is not dirty but is rather very beautifully penned. The relationship between the three protagonists is very sexy but also very romantic. There is a definite bond between Dante, Benito and Calista from the moment they first meet. Calista's willingness to experience anything and everything with these men adds another layer of sensuality to this tale. The mystery Calista is investigating is definitely intriguing but tends to take a back seat to the actual developing relationship. Readers should note that this is not your average romance story. It is an Ellora's Cave title, thus making it highly sexual. Almost all the love scenes involve the three protagonists, so just beware if menage sories are not your thing. Otherwise, if you're willing to read about a love that is a bit different, but very genuine and sincere, give Calista's Men, and Jory Strong, a chance. You'll be hooked.

Great primise - Poor delivery,

What could be more perfect than a menage a trois with brothers? The story line does not provide enough background information on Dante and Benito or their desire/need for a menage a trois. They have great emotional requirements but very little range. Benito, the softer brother, sets the stage with Calista (female character) at their first meeting through dancing and kissing. He also provides most of the emotional support for his brother and Calista. Dante, the dominant brother, sets the boundries of the relationship, as expected. However, he is so rude you have to wonder why Calista contines the relationship.
I felt that this story could have shared more of the details of the lives of the three characters, and therefore provided a more interesting story. This author has a definite talent and I hope to read more of her work. (m/f/f no m/m).

Calista's men,

This review is from: Crime Tells: Calista's Men (Paperback)
In this readers opinion this is one of Jory Strong's best books. Part of a series based around a family and frineds all working for a detective agency. Calista is a sweet character were Dante and Benito are sexy and stong. Dante's dominace streek makes for a fantastic read and Bneito's nearly instant love is adorable. With a little suspense thrown in over the mens past and their current case the book is fast passed and will suck you in.

I couldn't finish it. The first two books in the series were good. This one was pitiful, even the sex scenes. I couldn't get into because of the sex with the brothers were more separate than together, the storyline was just bad and way so not believable.

Calista Burke is celebrating her good fortune. She finally was hired by Crime Tells Investigations, and by joining that well-known firm; it also cemented her relationship with the Montgomery family she had become so attached to. When she was out celebrating her first assignment as lead detective, with her new family, on a missing person case at a nearby bar, the most attractive men she had ever seen joined them. Dante Giancotti and his twin brother Benito had noticed Calista immediately making a quick decision she was going to belong to them.
Benito charmed Calista with his more gentle side, but Dante's dominant forceful presence was equally disarming to her. She wasn't overly experienced with men, but had never felt the immediate connection that she did with them. They were unhappy to learn of her recent career change from schoolteacher to detective because of the potential risk to her. Benito and Dante insinuated themselves into her first case only to be blown out of the water when learning her missing person case was directly related to Dante's suspension from the police force after a justified shooting. When Calista found herself a direct target fighting off gunfire, both men swore to protect her by any means necessary. Calista, Benito, and Dante had intense chemistry. This was a good ménage read, but the story was lacking. The missing person case, and subsequent resolution should have been more developed. You can tell the story was secondary in the authors mind, and without more explanation of why Dante and Benito always shared women, it remains just adequate.

There are not enough words in the english language to describe how awesome this book is. It show the true development of emotion between the tree main characters. Yet it is so steamy I thought it would burn the pages. Awesome author I will be picking up all feature books!!

I tried really hard to get into this book and I just couldn't do it. The story itself just seemed too much. A teacher deciding to become a private eye? It just didn't work for me.
