This album is great! I would characterize the music as folk rock with a bit of alt. country blues thrown in. Don't let the "alt. country" scare you if you like rock music--this album really captures the rocked-out live shows These United States put on. The drums are perfectly executed, and the guitars are not over-done (as is a hazard of many bands). One of the few albums I can listen to from cover to cover, so to speak.

These guys play kind of fast and loose, but have some interesting lyrics and catchy hooks. Nice to hear an entire CD that I can put on and not just one or two songs. Give it a listen!

Unique: this music is difficult to characterize, blending lots of styles, but every song is strong, musically and lyrically interesting. It's playful, but rocks.
