Editorial Reviews

Review

"My overall comment on the text is chat it is well organized. I really like the case studies that are provided at the end of each chapter. "WOW" these are great selling points in themselves. This author is an expert, not just an educator." — Donald Alsdurf, Kansas City Kansas Community College, Kansas City, KS

3.0 out of 5 stars Some of the examples are old, out dated methods, October 8, 1999
By A Customer
Overall, this text is not bad, although several instructional areas are out-dated material, ie: marking "shell casings, "bullets", on the face, etc. Also, todays training does not include marking handguns on every piece that can be removed, ie: frame, cylinder, barrel, grips, etc.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book for new investigators, February 12, 2010

As a officer I found this book to be a great read. I highly recommend this book to new officers or anyone interested in the investigations field. Everything is covered in this addition. I especially liked the included interrogation and deception detection tips. Why learn this the hard way through trial and error(like many of use do in law enforcement)? This book does not read like a product of academia; which is sometimes stifled and stiff. Instead, the reader is given an insight into police work by an experienced police investigator.
