This review is from: Criminal Justice Organizations: Administration and Management (Hardcover)
While one of the most casually written textbooks ive read, it does convey the necessary material in a way that is understandable and readable. Stojkovic makes the abstract ideas behind these beauracracies, but seems to be lacking information on management and leadership. Although this is mostly a lost cause anyway because leadership is for the most part nonexistent in criminal justice systems. Because of their makeup, these organizations rely on MANAGEMENT tecniques and leadership takes a backseat. Overall a good text, just a little confused.

This book was required for a graduate level course that I recently completed. It was very challenging to read. I almost felt as if I needed a PhD to understand some of the chapters and questions that followed. The book was very informative and did include some great topics. But if you're just looking for a book to pass time, this is not it. Although, the authors did a very good job of making the book as interesting as possible, you'd really have to be truly interested in a management position within a law inforcement agency to appreciate its content. If that is your desire, the book is a necessity.

I was very very happy with the book I received and the quick and prompt shipping of my book. I have had lots of problems with ordering books online and this was by far the BEST service I have ever had. The book arrived in perfect condition, it looked brand new, the price was great, and I received it quickly. Great Service.
