2013 Chatelaine Awards First Place Winner for Romantic Fiction

Half-vampire Abby Tate is determined to learn more about the sorceress powers that were awakened inside her when she was turned into a vampire--making her a whole new hybrid species. There's a group of rogue vamps banding together and forming a Resistance against the vampire governing body, The Head Council, and Abby's newly discovered powers are the key to the Council's victory. Now the Resistance will do anything possible to remove the hybrid threat, and with no other options, Abby is forced to rely on the aid of the Council, yet can she trust the very vampires that hunt for her human lover? And even worse, can she fight the unwelcome attraction that's growing between her and one of those ancient vampire rulers?

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than the first book! April 7, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Action, adventure, magic, and page melting scenes are what awaits in Crimson Flames. Abby is back and better than ever! In Crimson Groves Abby learned that she is not quite "normal" and she is bound and determined to figure out what that means. She was turned into a vampire (against her will - BTW) and then learned that she has powers- and that she is the only one of her type. Not to mention the people who want her dead or to use her powers for themselves. Abby's journey of self-discovery reveals many things not only about herself, but about those around her. I love that she is able to take whatever is thrown at her; she is one of my favorite female heroines - think Lara Croft and Selene from Underworld - yeah, she is that cool!

In CG, Abby learned that Tyler, her human friend that she is in love with, betrayed her multiple times and was working for Bronx, the evil vampire that turned Abby. He keeps insisting that he is innocent and runs. I don't like Tyler and never really did and finally Abby can see him for who he is and let him go and move on. With the help of Stone and Tristan, she attempts to find answers from the Vampire Council. Abby is asked by the almighty Vampire Council to help them fight against the Resistance (the rogues Bronx was with). Abby is not sure what to do or if she should get in the middle of a war, but they put her in the middle and she is constantly trying to stay alive because she has the power to defeat the Resistance, like it or not.

However, meeting with the Council isn't all bad; Abby is reconnected with her mother's spirit through an Elder on the Council. Although Abby isn't sure about trusting her, but she realizes that her mom only wants to help her and show her her true potential.

4.0 out of 5 stars enjoyable May 13, 2013

Format:Kindle Edition
Packed full of explosive action, love and loss, Crimson Flames was a good read. Ashley did an outstanding job on creating amazing scenes and likable and dis-likeable characters. Although some parts of the story seemed a little slow paced for me, I really enjoyed reading and following Abby on this awesome thrill ride! I look forward to reading more from this talented writer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic New Adult Vamp Story April 23, 2013
By cm3
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I really love the first book Crimson Groves and was really anxious to read the second book Crimson Flames. This is the third of Ashley’s books that I have read and I really feel she is growing as a writer and each book is flowing better and better. Flames starts off right where Groves left off. Tyler is on the run, Stone is still by Abby’s side and Tristian is still pursuing her for her powers. She forms an unlikely alliance with Tristian and the Head Vampire Council in order to clear Tyler and get the Resistance off her back. Ashley touched more on the elder Trace who is a character I am growing to like. Abby likes him more than she is letting and its causing friction. I absolutely loved this book as much, if even more than the first one. Great job Ashley!

4.0 out of 5 stars Crimson Flames April 1, 2013
Format:Paperback
It's been two months since the vampire, Bronx kidnapped and turned Abby Tate. She is now an hybrid vampire and eager to learn about her sorceress bloodline. But she encounters complications, like the head council and the resistance who would love nothing more than to destroy her. She loathes putting trust in the council, but it's her only option. Plus, if they can really reunite her with her real mother she believes the risk will be worth it.

Excellent read! Robertson has written a stellar follow up to book one, Crimson Groves. The story had a darkness to it that makes for an exciting change of pace. Crimson Flames has a great energy to it and it's wonderfully paced. With intense, sensual scenes. I loved both Tristan and Stone, Trace as well. The sexiness just rolls off of them. It's a miracle that Abby even remembers her human lover with them around. If you're looking for a bloody good vampire story, then you should check this one out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Crimson Flames March 27, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Crimson Flames was completely EPIC! I loved it, every turn of the page their was something constantly going on, never a dull moment. Ashley Robertson made me cray, get angry and even laugh while reading Crimson Flames. My heart went out to Stone, I think he is my favorite character in the Crimson Series. And OMG!!! TYLER!!! I am so not giving that away but it def made me cry, that was until he pissed me off.

Abby Tate is one fierce, bad ass Vampire/Sorceress!! She is not about to let any one stand in her way when it comes to protecting those she holds dear. While fighting the rogue vampires she is also trying to protect her friends and find out where she belongs in this new world she was forced into. If that's not enough she is still learning how to use her powers and deal with new feelings towards a new love interest while sorting out how she feels about Tyler and of course Stone.

I highly recommend reading Crimson Groves and Crimson Flames, they are full of awesomeness!!

Crimson Flames by Ashley Robertson

Rating 5*****

This book was provided from the author for honest literary review.

Abby has had a wild ride ever since being turned against her will into a vampire. Now with Bronx dead and the High Council tracking her every move, she must race to fulfill her own destiny and keep.herself alive.

Change happens whether you want it to or not, whether you're ready for it or not...
This novel is absolutely amazing. Long gone is scared Anna, who is unsure and scared of her own shadow. Now Abby is back and she is ready to kick some serious butt. This book is full of depth and a deep emotional plot blended with high energy action. It is like taking a journey with Abby on the way to finding herself. I was absolutely all in right from the beginning.
All of the characters are amazing. Some I love, others I love to hate. They are all well developed, with depth and their own story. Each are explained in great detail but not so much as to glob up the story or inhibit the progress. Abby truly has a fire within her now and that was amazing to read.
I loved book one, bit this one is over any expectation I had. It is a thrill ride. Editing is superb and the flow is absolutely natural. I hate that this is the end. I want more.
This is such an amazing story I would love to see story continue. Go out and grab this one, it is more than worth it. It truly makes you fall in love with vampires that don't sparkle in the sun all over again. I won't say this is a recommended read, it is a read it would be a crime to miss. I will say due to a few sexual situations and dialogue I will say the age is 16+ for this one.....Happy reading!
