"Cris on the Farm" is Rio de Janeiro based guitarist Marcos Amorim's third album and represents both his U.S. and Adventure Music debut. Widely considered one of Brazil's rising young guitar talents, Amorim has performed throughout the world with some of Brazil's most noted musicians, such as Celia Vaz, Mauricio Einhorn, Helio Delmiro and Vittor Santos. On this new recording, Marcos is joined by master Brazilian percussionist Robertinho Silva and bassist Ney Conceçião. Guitarist Amorim has found great inspiration from both American and Brazilian guitarists and composers alike, and has used these influences as a springboard to create his own unique and distinctive tone and approach to both electric and acoustic guitars on this highly charged and exciting outing.

A mellow set of jazz/acoustic guitar work, which ranges from moments of Metheny-ish electrified echo to bouncier, Baden Powell-esque romps and quieter, more exploratatory moods. It's pretty nice. Amorim is joined by Brazilian bassist Ney Conceicao and the ever-ubiquitous Robertinho Silva on percussion... It's a quiet, compact trio that lets the guitar stay front and center.
