I love making chicken schnitzel (from the Burghoff cookbook). Crisco canola oil does a fine job here. Put in about an inch of the oil, heat it to medium high. Then, add the chicken (with bread crumbs, egg mixture, and flour mixture). If done right, a crispy and tasty dish. Pour some tomato sauce over the top and you have a nice protein source.
The key things. First, this is pretty healthy. Low saturated fat, no cholesterol, some Omega 3s. No sodium. . . . You can heat the oil and it doesn't start smoking easily. Anyhow, I try to make sure that I always have at least a half bottle of this. A fine addition to my kitchen. . . .

NO TRANS FATTY ACIDS + LOW SATURATED FATS + HIGH MONOSATURATED = HEALTHY OIL,

IN A NUTSHELL: GOOD FOR COOKING AND HUMAN HEALTH TOO!
ZERO TRANS FATTY ACIDS + LOW SATURATED FATS + HIGH MONOUNSATURATED FAT = HEALTHY OIL LOADED WITH ALA [ALPHA-LINOLENIC ACID] PROVEN PROTECTION AGAINST ATHEROSCLEROSIS: Eating foods high in alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), [found in canola & flaxseed oil] will increase the blood levels of omega-3 fatty acids. ALA has been shown to confer a large measure of protection against atherosclerosis. As part of the "Mediterranean" diet, researchers used products high in ALA, and found that the ALA reduced the risk of dying from heart disease by 70% over the first 27 months. Olive and Peanut oil also contain large amounts of ALA and are similarly cardio-protective. The presence of a larger proportion of "mono-saturated fats" is central to the cardio-protective properties of the oil. For example, this Crisco Canola oil is composed of about 60% Monounsaturated fats, about 30% Polyunsaturated and less than 10% Saturated [bad fat]. NO Cholesterol -- No Trans-Fat WHAT IS CANOLA OIL GOOD FOR BESIDES OUR HEALTH? Canola oil is an excellent everyday choice for baking, frying or cooking. BOTTOM LINE: HEALTHY - ECONOMICAL - PALATABLE - USED IN MANY RECIPES [AS ALWAYS: I AM NOT AFFILIATED WITH ANY COMPANY OR PRODUCT]
