This book is user friendly and provides a great overview of counseling client's in crisis. It provides sufficient theoretical background and support for using the developmental-ecological approach. The authors provide descriptions of specific, concrete skills to use when working with clients who are in crisis. It includes chapters detailing guidelines and information for working with clients in specific kinds of crisis such as sexual assault, death and terminal illness, and disaster trauma.
