About the Author

We the Trans International flight attendant were young Americans. We expected to be treated with respect while we traveling abroad. After all, we lived in a country where we had freedoms, privacy rights, the right to free speech, the right to gather, the right to worship, and the right to know the charges against us if arrested. Outside the cocoon of the United States, life was different. Even though I kept a journal while I roamed the world, I'd turn to my husband, whom I'd known since high school and who had traveled with me on numerous occasions, and ask him if he remembered certain situations. He'd refresh my memory and I'd refresh his on other occasions. That is the reason I wrote Crisscrossing, to preserve those memories for future generations. To avoid confusion, and since Transamerica Airlines and Trans International were both owned by Transamerica Corporation I used the name Trans International (TIA) throughout my book.

Crisscrossing the Globe has combined travel-history-humor into a wonderful read for any and all that enjoy travel or hope to travel. Hardcore travelers will be delighted with the insight that Cynthia McAlister, the author, delivers throughout the book.
We all gain from Ms McAlisters crazy life as a charter flight attendant for we see the world as just one constant destination after another. The African chapter was hilarious-A MUST READ!!!!
The reader will leave this book with a better understanding of geography, history and a fascination for the life style of one who CRISSCROSSED THE GLOBE.
