In short order, this book captures the essentials of what you need to know in the ICU, and very frequently seen as subject matter on the CCRN exams. I found the memory-joggers (e.g. MR.PASS, MS.ARD) practical in both didactic and clinical practice, and often refer my orientees to this text.

This is an excellent CCRN review, AND a really great reference book. I carried mine to work every day for at least a couple of years, but am finally giving some other books a chance. Mine has been used a lot, and is full of margin notes, underlined phrases, stars, and exclamation marks! Buy it now, its great... :-)

I use this quick reference book with all my orientees. It is my 'Nurses Merck Manual'. The question and answer format prevents TMI for the new ICU nurse.
