This review is from: Critical Study Of Work (Paperback)
I am using this book in my course on sociology of work with great success. The students really like the case studies and can relate to the work sites covered in this volume. Unlike most labor process research which focuses on factory labor-- this book looks at service and retail sites-- taking gender and race into consideration. Great for classes on work or globalization.

This review is from: Critical Study Of Work (Paperback)
This volume presents innovative, comparative case studies of work and the politics of labor around the world. Moving the field of labor process studies onto new conceptual terrain, "The Critical Study of Work" should be required reading for anyone seeking to understand globalization and how it shapes and connects work experiences in offices, retial establishments, homes, and factories.
