Like most wheels, this one starts out "whisper silent" but gradually gets quite loud over time. Rubbing some olive oil or Crisco on the axle helps for a bit, but there is still noise. The Wodent Wheel (which I can't find on Amazon) is the quietest wheel I have ever used. It truly is completely quiet. It's the only wheel that I can sleep in the same room with.

This is not very good for peaceful rooms. This wheel squeaks too loudly. Lucky and trixie (my hamsters)love this item,but as for the owner, no. Get this if you are a heavy sleeper or if you really love your pet

I have two overweight hamsters... They broke the first two wheels that I bought for them. This one attached to the side of the cage, making more living space, and has lasted almost a year. My only complaint is that the occasional droppings fly out when my hammys get to excited while running. Yuk!

This wheel is a nice addition to hamster cage matches cage well, and hamster seems to love it. The only fault is that wheel moves on the peg and is noisy.

My hamster loves it and it is not at all loud or irritating. It is difficult to clean however.

Our Hamster loves to run in it full speed and sleep in it. I love that it has ridges instead of rungs and the catch-tray underneath does a great job of catching poop and pieces of bedding. The wheel has a nice gap for lots of fresh air to get in. It is pretty difficult to remove the outer part by hand so your hamster is not going to escape.

My dwarf hamster really enjoys this wheel and so do I. The wheel was loud but I simply put a magic rub earser under the flat surface of the wheel which cut down on the noise by a lot.

Whats even better is that my hamster seems to only poop in the wheel, when she runs all the poop collects in the tray which makes for an easy clean up.

It doesn't take up any space in the cage which keeps the cage roomy.

Over all I'm extremly satisfied with this product, if you need a wheel by this one.

I have two gerbils named Acorn and Daisy. I have CritterTrail One and Two and a potty. I didn't buy this wheel, my cages came with them. Acorn and Daisy like them and use them a lot. They do not build nests in them like some gerbils do. The only problem is the wheel does make noise. The gerbls like to run in them at night. This would be okay, but sometimes I can't get to sleep because the wheel is too loud!
It would be better for a mouse. I used to have a mouse, and the wheel didn't make noise when he ran on it. Maybe it's because gerbils are bigger than mice.
This is a good wheel for gerbils. Gerbils shouldn't have a wheel with bars because their tails can get stuck.This wheel is good. I also like how it has the "Bubble Wave Design" so it matches th tubes in CritterTrail cages.

I am very happy with this wheel. Take it from a person who has tested almost every wheel out there for hamsters. My "dwarf" hamsters love this wheel because it doesn't take too much effort to make this wheel spin. I love that it also doesn't get stuck after "dirty" substances. And I love the feature that it is super quiet!
