Ineffective,
This review is from: CritterTrail - Water Bottle (Misc.)
Got this bottle with my critter trail hamster cage. Never squeezed it, of course, and it drips constantly, soaking the hamster's bedding. But why wouldn't it? It's the weight of water pushing down onto an open hole, albeit small. Not good, looking to buy an alternative.

don't bother,
This review is from: CritterTrail - Water Bottle (Misc.)
This bottle drips all the time. It came with a crittertrail home that I used for my dwarf hamster, and I bought one of the water bottles with the ball at the end, because it dripped so badly that it made my hamster's bedding soaking wet in two days. It's also really hard to take off the plastic tip to refill it.

Death by water bottle,
A Kid's Review
I had a hamster with the exact same bottle and I knew not to squeeze it, so I didn't. A few days after my hamster finished it's nest. The water had leaked into the nest and it got nemonia. It had died overnight. When I picked her up to play, she was cold, wet, and dead. DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU LOVE YOUR HAMSTER!!!

CritterTrail Water Bottle,
A Kid's Review
This bottle comes with CritterTrail cages. It is light blue with a silver piece at the end that they drink out of. I don't know how a gerbil or other rodent could chew this if it is in the cage, because it is a round shape and there is nothing for them to hold onto to chew it. The top is so they can chew it, but that piece stays on top of the cage, so they can't get to it. If your bottle leaks all the time, it is probably because you squeezed it! NEVER SQUEEZE THIS BOTTLE!!! It will keep dripping all the time if you do!!! If you don't squeeze it, it will only drip a little when you first put it in. Remember to never put the food dish under the bottle, either. If you do, the bottle may drip in the dish and your pet will have soggy food. Besides, how would they get to it? Acorn and Snowflake (If you've read some of my other reviews, you know my gerbils are Acorn and Daisy. Daisy died and we got Snowflake. I will be writing a review on the Lazy Lookout. Read it to find out what happened) Anyway, Acorn and Snowflake never have problems with this. We have three water bottles and four cages right now. We stopped using the bottle in CritterTrail Two because it was too close to the shelf for them to drink from it. There is even a mini bottle in CritterTrail Outlook! (I do not mean the Lazy Lookout. There is a new cage called CritterTrail Outlook that has a mini bottle. It is not for sale on Amazon.com yet.) These are good water bottles that do not drip.
