This review is from: Critters of Mossy Creek (Mossy Creek Hometown) (Paperback)
There is nothing like the bond between pet and owner. "Critters of Mossy Creek" is a collaborative novel following the quiet southern town of Mossy Creek. This is a touching story written by pet lovers for pet lovers. For anyone who enjoys small town charm and their animal companions, "Critters of Mossy Creek" will prove an ideal read.

Hubby's Review (Steve),
This review is from: Critters of Mossy Creek (Mossy Creek Hometown) (Paperback)
"Critters of Mossy Creek" is book 7 in the Mossy Creek Hometown series. It is a collection of 23 short stories from the Mossy Creek residents about their pets. Mossy Creek is a small, eclectic town in Georgia, not your typical southern town. Residents vary from the Governor's family to a retired Army General to generational old family farms to immigrant families to the new townsmen, where new means not being not born in the county. Cats, dogs, a "killer" rabbit, koi, and an Amazon parrot are all featured in these sometimes inspirational, sometimes tragic, sometimes funny, and always full of humor stories.
The Mossy Creek stories are written by different authors. "The Critters" stories are written by Deborah Smith, Debra Dixon, Sandra Chastain, and Martha Shields Crockett. Each story is from a specific town resident and involves a pet, either the resident's own, or someone else in the story. Each story is unique. There are cat lovers, and dog lovers, and some that don't want pets, and some with a menagerie of pets. Some stories are in several parts, mixed in with the other stories that give in a chronological feel. I laughed at some, had tears at one, and thoroughly enjoyed these stories. This is the second book I have read of the Mossy Creek series. I might not want to live there, since there really is no privacy is a very small town, but I really enjoy the characters and the interactions between them. Warning - I am a pet owner and have had cats, dogs, and parrots, so I might be biased. The characters, the plots, the humor, the emotion, and the consistency between the stories make this book a delightful and quick read.
