Either way, first-time author Emborsky conjures up non-lace-looking apparel and accessories to win hearts and wallets and men—and those who love them. Not one for much in the way of prefatory notes, Emborsky covers the basics—fibers, hooks, and sizing—then launches into his two-dozen-plus crochet-ables, all with great color photographs, good directions (and charts, when needed), and notes on the requisite materials and skill level. Among the more unusual selections are a sock for MP3 players, covers for golf clubs, cotton cloths to buff cars to a high sheen, and a power tie reminiscent of Rooster neckwear. My goal in creating this book of crochet designs for guys was to provide a selection of timeless classic silhouettes that would become the foundation of any crafters library. My hope is that you the crafter will be able to find any shape sweater perfect for yourself or for gifts, and that for years to come you will be able to go to this book to find exactly what you're looking for.

More About the Author

Drew Emborsky, aka The Crochet Dude(r), was taught to crochet at age five by his mom while snowbound in Lake Tahoe. After studying fine art in college and doing the "starving artist" thing for a few years, he found solace in crocheting for charity while grieving the passing of his mother. It was during this time with the charity group that he became know as "The Crochet Dude", which then led to the launch of his wildly popular blog in 2005.

Drew blogs and creates from his studio in Houston, TX with his cats Chandler and Cleocatra.

Drew is the crochet expert on the hit show Knit & Crochet Now! airing currently on PBS nationwide.

He has been featured in national publications including BUST Magazine, Interweave Crochet, Knit.1, Knit 'n Style, Knit Simple, and Crochet Today!, as well as international newspapers such as The Sunday Telegraph (in London).

I'm just delighted by this book and can't wait to crochet nearly everything in it. I've already started my first EVER sweater (Weekend Turtleneck) and am feeling brave and cautiously optimistic. The book is well written, the projects are well photographed, and the writing is clear and easy to read. Thank you so much Drew - you are a true inspiration!

Well written and he put in a lot of visual aids
as well as the pattern.
I'm eying more than one of the sweaters that
I would like to make for myself.
The weekend Turtleneck just looks so comfortable
and sounds like it would be a quick project.
Don't let the price fool you. It looks like
it should cost twice as much.
Finally, a book of patterns just for men and not a
book with just one pattern for a man.
These are designed for guys to wear by a guy.
Not something your wife picked out for you.
Pick up a copy and I know that you won't be
disappointed.

I got this book in the mail yesterday and much to my surprise, there are even a couple things in there I want to make for myself.
Not only does this book have some great classic sweaters in it that have always been and always will be in style but it also has some sporty and preppy looks that are great for right now.
I also have to say, the writings in this book are what really made me 'fuzzy' inside. Knowledgable, clear, and funny. Don't forget the touching dedication to his mother.
All around, a great book that I would highly recommend to anyone. I'm going to make the hoodie for myself. Can't wait to start!
