More About the Author

Drew Emborsky, aka The Crochet Dude(r), was taught to crochet at age five by his mom while snowbound in Lake Tahoe. After studying fine art in college and doing the "starving artist" thing for a few years, he found solace in crocheting for charity while grieving the passing of his mother. It was during this time with the charity group that he became know as "The Crochet Dude", which then led to the launch of his wildly popular blog in 2005.

Drew blogs and creates from his studio in Houston, TX with his cats Chandler and Cleocatra.

Drew is the crochet expert on the hit show Knit & Crochet Now! airing currently on PBS nationwide.

He has been featured in national publications including BUST Magazine, Interweave Crochet, Knit.1, Knit 'n Style, Knit Simple, and Crochet Today!, as well as international newspapers such as The Sunday Telegraph (in London).

I was so excited to get this in the mail yesterday, and I was not disappointed. I looked through the book as soon as I got it, in the car. My husband looked at it with me and I was surprised to hear 'wow' come out of his mouth about the full length coat in red. "That's amazing", were his words. Most of the patterns are sized small to 2x and most are intermediate skill level. Even if you are fairly new to crochet, if you take your time and read the instructions carefully you should not have a problem with any of these patterns. I already have a 'to do' list of tops I want to make out of this book, and maybe even one for a gift.
Up to date styles. Something for every woman to wear. Now, what am I going to make first?

This book should never be out of print because the garments will always be in style. If the little black dress is more than what you want to tackle, the scarf is super easy. With sizing from small to 2X, the flattering fashions are available for any figure. The instructions are easy to follow and the photos crisp. This is the first book in a long time that has more than just one item that I can't wait to make.

I have sooooo many crochet books, but this one has some of the classiest patterns. They are not hard to understand and the end result is so very nice. This is one book that I highly recommend. It was definitely worth the wait. Keep them coming Drew.

My grandmother taught me to crochet as a young girl. I switched to knitting because I felt the patterns were more beautiful, etc. No one was making anything using crochet that interested me. Then, I discovered Drew, The Crochet Dude. He is original, creative and modern. The only problem is that I want to make almost everything from this new book. I think I'll start with the black dress!! Keep it up Drew!

Drew Emborsky features some amazing fashion designs - that are crocheted. If anyone has doubts that a crocheted garment can be high fashion, check out Quintessential, a little black dress, and Budapest Nights, which is an elegant full-length coat.

And I love, love, love Hesperas, a darling dress that easily go to the high school prom.

I love this book! The majority of the patterns are things I could actually see myself making and wearing. The styles are current and up to date, but also timeless, so you could see yourself wearing them in the future, not just this year. I highly recommend this book :)
