I did a review on the 2013 calander price and have the same issue with the 2012 year. $150.00 for a new one and over $800.00 for used one's while these calanders are nice because the patterns are all in one spot, most of the patterns are free on the internet. For the amount of money they want I can buy a printer, the ink needed, and the paper to print the patterns, or better yet a $5.00 flash drive or a $10.00 stack of cd's to down load the patterns to. Also any more the patterns in the patterns a day calanders are from different yarn companies and found on there websites or found on raverly. I'm sorry while the calander idea was a great idea for unpublished designers several years ago, now a days they can be found all over the internet. I have 4 or 5 years worth of the older calanders and wound never be so greedy to charge such outrageous prices, even then many of the patterns was from yarn companies and up and coming designers who are household names now.

This is an awesome calendar!

Tip:
Don't accidentally rip the box because you will use the box, folded in a certain way, to hold the pages of patterns.

Pros:
It's not bound together like other calendars that size. It's actually very helpful that it's not bound like that because this way you can skip around and do another pattern if you want.
There is a table of contents in case you want to find something specific.
Likeable patterns - I liked about 90% of the patterns and can probably do them as an Easy/Intermediate-leveled crocheter.
Lots of patterns for this price.
Educational - This will teach me new stitches as well.

Cons:
I want more patterns now! I'll probably have to buy the other two calendars from previous years that are still available. :)

I only purchased this calendar, because I was told that I had won a spot in it, with one of my pattern submissions. When the calendar arrived, I looked through it, and my pattern was not included. The calendar it's self is nice, pictures are great, and patterns are well written, but, there is NOT a pattern a day, several patterns span out for several days.

I bought this for a gift for someone I know who crochets. I also have a copy and find there is endless patterns and well worth the price. The patterns you can keep and it's all organized in your calendar holder. The patterns range from skill to type of crocheting there is something for every crochet. Good investment.
