I had purchased this book based on the suggestion of someone in one of my granny square swaps - I am returning it today. The color photos of the squares are 16 to a page - very hard to see - and the photos next to the patterns themselves are black and white. I have been crocheting for years and tried several patterns from this book - none of them came out well enough to use in my swap.

Perhaps this book is good for very advanced crochet, but if that is the case, it should be made clear.

This book is great! Each square is creative but well thought out and easy to follow! I have used many of these squares to design my own afghans!

I was looking for more "granny square" patterns and came across this book and ordered it.

It becomes hard finding "fresh new" patterns if you have picked up crochet books in the past. I was thrilled with many of the patterns in this book, since they were different from the ones I already had. It was just what I wanted; lots of lovely patterns so that I could make my own creative designed afghan.

I would consider myself beyond a beginner in crochet, however not advanced, and the instructions of the squares I have made were easy and clear.

I think this book is for anyone wanting to expand their square pattern library, and worth the money.

If you are new to crocheting, like I was, then this is THE perfect book to start with. After completing a few squares, I decided to make all 101. And I did. Check out my journey at my blog, This Year's Dozen. The book author even left a comment on my blog which made my day.

I don't mind working from black and white photos, but it would've been nice if some of them were enlarged for the book. # 12 is as small in the book as it is on the cover. 101 Granny Squares gives a much better photo of it.

I like the book and some of the squares are really neat. I just wish that they would have put the picture of the square next to the directions. They have the pictures on the front and back (the only ones in color BTW) and in the center of the book. They are numbered and when you find one you like you look up that number elsewhere in the book.

This book is one of the best for content I have and I have many books on granny squares, some no longer in print.

As with other books I have I think the UK version may have a different print as my version does not have any black and white pictures in it only colour.

I have found it to be of a great help when creating my own squares, but I have to say that it is not for those just starting, although I believe that the instructions are straight forward.

The squares are varfied with only a few in my view being a near repeat. There are squares for evey ability in this book

My only negative with it is that it is not the best assembled book I own as it is coming apart now, but that could be with use and the pages are fine

The variety and quality of the pictures was excellent.. Easy to adapt the squares to different sizes... I used many of the squares right away for a charity to benefit children with cancer, "Share A Square." (see the Ravelry or Facebook groups)

I've been crocheting for over 25 years and have used this book many, many times. If you have a basic understanding of crochet and time and patience to use different yarns and varying hooks, it is a very useful and versatile book. If you have no idea about crochet, or do not wish to think, this book is not for you. All the patterns/squares are clear and easy to read and understand. I have made several afghans using a combination of squares from this book and have received many compliments. This book is 100% a WINNER!

I purchased this item for me. I go to Crochet Classes once a week and crochet for our hospitals, nursing homes and other business that are in need. I saw this book from a friend and loved it. It is not a new book, so I knew I would have a hard time finding it. My first thought was AMAZON. That's where I found it at a great price and in new condition.
