5.0 out of 5 stars Great for chili, soups, etc...
This is a great value and enduring product. I've had my Rival crock pot for over 10 years, and have used it literally HUNDREDS of times. This is another one of those very low cost but high value kitchen tools.

The low setting allows for slow (12 hour+) cooking overnight or all day. I love to put on a pot of chili before I go to bed or work, and let the house soak...

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad Crock
I have a thirty year old Rival Crock Pot that still has not one crack in it. Therefore, I was shocked when I used this large beautiful piece of cookware for the first time and it cracked. Multiple cracks after the very first use. It wasn't an expensive purchase but a very disappointing one. Was it bad luck... I have no clue. I'd love for Rival to exchange my cracked...

Just be careful with the countertop placement, as the sides get very hot!

5.0 out of 5 stars We're a Rival Family, November 11, 2003

When I was looking for a crockpot, I wanted something affordable and durable. My Mom had a Rival crock pot when I was younger (it was orange and older than the hills). My Dad also has an older version of this one, only it has a plastic lid. After 10 years, the lid broken, but it still works.

I got this one and love it. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles that are available with some of the more costly models, nor does it have a design. It is just a nice crock pot that is big enough for a small roast or a pot of chili (which is great on a winter's day)

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have for your kitchen!, November 16, 2004

Rival gives the cook a great product with this easy to use and clean cooker. From stews to beans to roasts, you've got a great little machine here, and the removable crock is so convenient! Cook the dish for your church potluck, wait for the crock to cool a bit, take it out, and off you go with no need to change dishes! The crock is attractive enough to sit on the table for serving with your best dishes. Dishwasher safe, too! Highly recommend for any cook, and makes a great wedding shower gift!

I'd love for Rival to exchange my cracked crock for a new one so I could find out and I'd be happy to say, it was just bad luck.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT Product!, April 25, 2005
This review is from: Crock-Pot 3060-W 6-Quart Round Slow Cooker, White (Kitchen)
Got this 2 weeks ago, cooked beans, soups, tomato sauce and it works beautifully. After 12 hours on low, tomato sauce had no scorching.
The nice surprise was how easy it is to clean: just fill with water, wait 5 minutes, and wipe out, very easy: I dont even need to use the cooking bags. We are on a low sodium diet and this is indispensible for us as we have to make almost everything from scratch.

1.0 out of 5 stars Rival Crockpot Part Replacements - now thats a CROCK !, May 29, 2007
This review is from: Crock-Pot 3060-W 6-Quart Round Slow Cooker, White (Kitchen)
My plastic lid cracked and I called their Rival handy dandy 1 - 800 line and boy did I get a line ! call back, they are coming in, call back you just missed the shipment call back etc. etc.
After calling regularly over the months ( since February and now its almost JUNE ! )today I got a guy who said - nope now Rival is not making replacement lids anymore.
Now just a minute says I - Rival Customer Service has had me calling back for replacement lids for months.
His response - we know its coming - OH you may as well toss that crockpot because we don't sell replacement lids "
The least expensive part won't be replaced so junk the whole thing ? !
Now thats what I call A CROCK
The last time I ever buy a Rival Crockpot - their customer service = crackpots and this company is really far out of step with customers and our times - this just isn't GREEN or efficient.
Look elsewhere for a reliable product and " for real" customer service.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice...., December 11, 2004
This review is from: Crock-Pot 3060-W 6-Quart Round Slow Cooker, White (Kitchen)
This is a nice little crock-pot that has worked real well for us, particularly with soups and stews. It's a little slow getting warmed up, but quite durable. Definitely a bargain for the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, December 16, 2005
This review is from: Crock-Pot 3060-W 6-Quart Round Slow Cooker, White (Kitchen)
I've read many reviews of other crock pots and all of the problems people have with them. I feel sorry for those people! I've had this particular crock pot for over 4 years now and have never once had a problem. I've made roasts, soups, chili, and even baby back ribs (you slow cook them all day, then throw them on the grill for a minute - it's excellent!) in this thing. Everything comes out great.

I like that this crock pot is simple, but includes all the settings I need: high, low, and warm. It's a no brainer.

This crock pot can be a bit pricy full price, but I've found that it goes on sale frequently enough. I bought mine for $20 and it was a great investment.

Haven't used this crock pot, yet. Just wanted to warn you about the price. One day when you look, it'll be $24.99, and the next $35.99, then back to $24.99.... back and forth, etc. Didn't want you to buy it for the higher price.

5.0 out of 5 stars A surprisingly useful kitchen gadget, July 5, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Crock-Pot 3060-W 6-Quart Round Slow Cooker, White (Kitchen)
I had my doubts, but after several STELLAR slow-cooker recipes I am totally sold, this thing is terrific! So far we've made a few chicken recipes and some barbecue sauce. Next we'll make ribs. And I want to get some beans soaking for tomorrow night. The reason I wanted a slow cooker was to make shredded beef for tacos, and this does a tremendous job!

A little preparation, like browning meat, makes a big difference in the final product, but overall it couldn't be easier. I also like being able to serve a hot meal without using the oven or the stovetop in the summer heat. The ceramic insert cleans up really easily.

Get a good cookbook, so far the best one I've found on amazon.com is "Not Your Mother's Slow Cooker Cook Book" for regular cooking and the Lara Brody slow cooker cook book if you're a really serious cook.

I am so impressed with this that I ordered a second, smaller 3.5 quart Rival Crock Pot!
