I bought a different brand of crockpot, directions said to cook the roast 5-6 hrs. on high, about 3 hrs. later it started to spit out liquid.Should there be a vent to let out the pressure? Oct 20, 2013
The lid to this one has a small, circular hole in it which acts as a vent. I seem to recall reading somewhere not to latch the lid down while cooking so more steam can escape, and only use the latches for transporting food. You may have had the temperature too high, and if the crock pot was more than 3/4 full it could overflow or splatter. There are a few variables. Here is where you can find some user manuals: http://www.crock-pot.com/service-%26-support/product-support/instruction-manuals/instruction-manuals.html. Good luck!
How do I warm up something in the crock pot? Jul 19, 2014
This model has three settings - Low, High and Warm. Both the low and the high settings on the slow cooker will cook at about 209 degrees F. These two settings, however, will cycle differently which will cause the high setting to prepare food faster. The warm setting on a slow cooker is around 165 degrees F.
Several reviews have metioned that the settings run hot! Is this enough that cooking times and temps need to be changed for recipes? That would be a major drawback I would think. Dec 2, 2013
The setting on "fast cook" hot does runs a little hot, so instead of 4 hours, I just turn it to "slow cook" around 3.7 hours. Really is nothing major... I have it for awhile now and use it at least once a week. Still love it! Hope this helps.
The height of the stoneware to the lid is approximately 6 inches.
I am also wondering where it is made, and in particular where the pottery crock is made. Dec 3, 2013
It says Boca Raton Florida on the bottom and the crock liner has an S on the bottom. That's all I can tell you.
Yes, easy to clean
I accidentally dropped the slow cooker and the stoneware is cracked....Can I buy only the stoneware? Feb 21, 2014
If you go to the Crock-Pot website and get their number, they are extremely helpful in trying to find replacement parts.
