5.0 out of 5 stars RIVAL IS STILL THE BEST!
I have been through 3 crockpots (slow cookers)-----a 3qt. without the removable pot when first in vogue & I first married, a 5qt. with a removable pot----both of which were Rival. Both were great, but for the third one, I made the mistake of listening to a stranger who raved about the Enesco "do it all Millenium" slow cooker. It was supposed to slow cook, bake,...

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor design and manufacture
Like the other reviewer, I had a poorly fitting lid that left a gap of over a quarter inch on both sides, plenty of space to let all the moisture out. It also heated way too high with two burn spots that show evidence of uneven heating. I thought I could live with this and always added extra water and put aluminum foil around the lid. Then I noticed liquid was seeping...

It was supposed to slow cook, bake, fry,.......everything. Major mistake!!! It was a piece of junk, with a tiny hole in the lid to allow steam to escape..........well, it did just that plus allowing all liquid to escape also! Now, I decided to treat myself, & go back with the tried & true Rival.....the absolute best slow cooker on the market. I really wanted red & this is infact a really nice red, not maroone as stated as well as pictured. It is beautiful & works just great! I love the serving feature. Take my advice & get the 6qt.----- you never know when you'll need the larger size.

Then I noticed liquid was seeping through cracks in the ceramic bowl. I looked and found a ridge in the ceramic showing the bowl was improperly cast. Three major problems for one simple crockpot. Amazing.

This Slow Cooker is fantastic, just the right size for a whole chicken dinner. The crock lifts out for easy cleaning plus I can serve this right from the cooker to the table.

4.0 out of 5 stars Rival Crock Pot, January 3, 2007
This review is from: Crock-Pot SCE600-RS 6 Quart Oval Slow Cooker, Red (Kitchen)
I've found this crock pot to work very well. The 6 quart size allows me to cook larger meals so that I can freeze the quantity I don't need for future meals. The "keep warm" feature is very handy, and the stoneware basin enhances direct serving from the table.Am very satisfied with the meals prepared so far.

This crock pot is great. Talk about set it and forget it. Great for less tender cuts of meat and cold weather recipies. This pot is large enough for two pot roasts and all the veg. Still cooking after all these years!

Lid doesn't fit as tight as it should.
Cooks to hot, needs to be a "slow" cooker.

Not only the color, but the slow cooker has only four cool places to touch it once you are cooking. The plastic handle on both sides of bottom part of cooker, the handle on the top of the lid, & the knob that has the cooking level you want. That leaves the rest of the huge slow cooker "RED HOT" pun intended while it is on. My last crock pot was not hot on the outside like this one is....other than that I would have given this five stars. With it's huge size, love that it, I'm able to cook the appropiate amount for my growing family. I use it at least once a week & sometimes more. My food as usual is delicious and every morsel eaten. Great for my skinny picky eater, too!

1.0 out of 5 stars Junk!, June 16, 2007
I was so excited to get my new crock pot. It's such a pretty color, has a large capacity, and is able to be used as a serving dish. I have had this maybe two months and the pot has already cracked from the inside out, on the inside it has little spidery cracks going up the sides. This has never been dropped. The only thing I can think of is the heat from the dishwasher. The instructions say it is dishwasher safe. It is ready to split in two. Such a let down.

I love this product. It is pretty first of all and makes a great presentation when just served out of the crock. It works wonderfully. The size is great for a family or for company.

4.0 out of 5 stars Can you put the lid in the oven?, April 2, 2009
This review is from: Crock-Pot SCE600-RS 6 Quart Oval Slow Cooker, Red (Kitchen)
I love my rival RED crockpot. However, I am not used to having three settings, so today when I came home and put supper in to cook, little did I know that I left it on WARM. So, supper wasn't ready. I decided to put it in the oven, but couldn't find my instruction book to see if I can put the lid in also. Does anyone know about this? I decided to be safe and not put the lid in, but rather cover it with foil until I find out for sure. It does throw me off with the different settings and also it does get hot on the outside, but I think my other one does too. I am glad I bought it!
