Classic Cooking Convenience

A convenient kitchen companion, this Crock-Pot slow cooker makes it easy to cook up a wide range of menu items. Use it for everything from appetizers and party dips to hearty soups, savory sauces, vegetarian chili, and more. It'll even hold a 3-pound roast. Its 3-quart capacity nicely accommodates meals for about four people--perfect for smaller-size families or for on-the-go professionals who want easy, healthy meals with leftovers.

User-Friendly Design

The slow cooker's user-friendly design means that both novice cook and experienced home chef alike will enjoy making meals marvelous. To use, simply add ingredients to the removable round stoneware, insert it into the heating base, secure the lid, and it's ready to go. Three temperature settings--High, Low, and Warm--generate the perfect amount of even, consistent heat for the job. Choose high heat for quickly making meatballs to bring to the block party, or select low heat so the lentil soup will be ready at the end of the day. The Warm setting keeps food at an ideal serving temperature when entertaining--great for parties and buffets.

Sleek Functional Style

Even more, the slow cooker features a brushed stainless-steel finish that adds a touch of modern elegance to any home kitchen, and its glass lid allows for keeping an eye on food as it cooks without having to remove the lid, so heat and moisture stay inside where they belong. A large stay-cool loop handle on the lid makes it easy to safely remove the lid, while two matching stay-cool side handles on the stainless-steel base ensure a comfortable, secure grip when transporting the slow cooker from the kitchen to the buffet and back again. Integrated side handles on the rim of the removable stoneware also facilitate easy lifting and carrying, whether lifting the stoneware out of its heating base or carrying it to the table for serving or to the refrigerator for storing leftovers (no need to dirty a second container).

Best of all, the removable stoneware and glass lid clean up easily by hand or in the dishwasher and recipes come included. The slow cooker measures approximately 10-3/5 by 8-2/3 by 10-2/3 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hot Answer from Crock-Pot March 1, 2011

I too thought it cooked too hot so wrote to company. The following is their reply:
"Both High and Low stabilize at the same temperature, it is just a matter of how long it takes to reach the simmer point. Once food reaches the simmer point, total cook time is dependent on cut and weight of meat to reach the point of maximum flavor and texture potential. (Most dishes can be prepared on either High or Low.) Typical cook time for Crock-Pot' slow cookers to reach simmer point (209'F):
Low: 7-8 to reach the simmer point
High: 3-4 hours to reach the simmer point"
It is hotter than my old one but it's a food safety issue. The dishes are coming out great. I find it the perfect size for my husband and me and can't beat the price!

5.0 out of 5 stars 3 Qt. Crock Pot November 9, 2010

This lovely little gem is a perfect size for 2-4 servings. It has "Off, Low, High and Warm" settings. Many crock pots I read about before purchasing this one do not have the warm setting, which makes keeping your cooked items at the right temperature for your meal without the higher cooking heat that could possibly over-cook your meal if left on too long.

Have already made several meals with the crock pot (turkey carbonate, beef stew and baby back ribs). I noticed when the recipes called for cooking from 7-9 hours on low temperature, it only took 7 hours, so checking your food is important when you first start using a new crock pot.

Would definitely recommend this crock pot.

5.0 out of 5 stars Liking It November 16, 2010

I've had a Rival brand Crock Pot for years and decided I needed another one so that I could keep more than one dinner item warm for when company comes. I choose the Crock Pot brand because my first one has served me well although the new Crock Pot does not say Rival on it anywhere so I guess they've sold the name. I saw this one and it had the keep warm setting and the price was so affordable I decided to try it and I'm very happy I did. The shape is lower and wider than my old one and the lid is glass as apposed to the plastic lid on the old one. I admit the new ones lid does not fit tightly (see update below). I really love the handles - they are open in the middle and easy to grip. And I can wrap the cord around and tuck the plug end into one of the handles for neat storing. Also love the stainless finish, it's very sleek and attractive. Update - the crock has small bumps around the top perimeter that hold the lid up off the rim a bit (like a couple of millimeters). This does allow moisture out. I only cook vegetables in my crockpots and if I use this new one I get a stew with little moisture. If I use my old crockpot where the lid sits securely on the rim of the crock I get more of a soup. So depending on what you are cooking this design may or may not suit. I'm wondering if a layer of foil between the crock and the lid would serve to keep moisture in, pressing down in the middle of the foil so steam that collects on the foil will fall into the food and not down the outside of the heating part. I still like this new crockpot and am glad I bought it.

This crockpot replaces a Rival Brand crockpot I bought for my parents 30 plus years. I paid less for it in 2013 than I paid for the other one years ago. Mother thinks it is great.
