Poor design and quality control,
This review is from: Crock-Pot SCVC600-SS 6-Quart Smart-Set Premium Slow Cooker, Chrome (Kitchen)
First, the defects...bought new, but the plastic control plate (with the dial and buttons) didn't fit onto the metal base well...so askew on the right side that the temp probe was impossible to plug in. Since it was rare-to-unlikely I'd ever need the probe for my uses I decided to see how well the unit worked. The buttons and dial were sketchy...sometimes a button press or dial turn would yield no response on the display, sometimes it would. I cooked a sample 4-qt recipe in it, on low. Low must be the new high at Rival, because I noticed the food was already overcooked and encrusted on the sides in 4 hours despite being a 6-8 hour recipe. Then, there's the pot itself...I noticed on close inspection during hand-washing that there was a barely visible (I felt it before I saw it) hairline crack inside (which ran fully across the bottom and an inch or two up each side). Thinking it was only a surface/paint defect, I flipped it over and noticed the crack was visible on the bottom as well, in the same place, so it was clearly not just cosmetic. Add to all this the somewhat flimsy plastic side handles (which I would scarcely trust when empty) and indeed an overall abundance of cheap plastic parts. I really can't recommend this product at all, even though it sounded nice on paper. I sent this defective unit back for refund and will likely eventually try the Hamilton Beach 3-in-1 model instead, which at least appears to be a bit better crafted (less plastic, simpler/less-problematic controls, etc.). Not happy with Rival's design or implementation based on this model.

Works great, but no stoneware replacement available,

This was my upgrade to my original 4qt cooker and it works great. The top cover is a little clunky, but it works. Big disappointment when I went to call to get a replacement stoneware because I cracked the original while cleaning it. I called months apart and they had no replacements or were not planning to make more. They offered liners, but who wants to cook in plastic!?

Only two weeks old and the plastic cover hinge broke. Called rival and was told there was no parts available for either the hinge (held on by two easily replaceable screws)or the complete lid assembly. They told be to take it back to the store and see if I could get a replacement.
