I have an original copy of this book and am "of an age" to have spent a good deal of time in the kitchen feeding family and friends. The recipes in this book are solid, tasty, and uncomplicated for the too busy women of today who can only cook on the weekends..if then. When I scan today's cookbooks I am usually disappointed by the lack of REALLY good recipes that don't require TIME or odd ingredients...food is food...meant to eat and enjoy, not dread preparing or worse...relying on prepared, chemically infused concoctions from the store. When you cook from scratch, you can control fat and sugar content and include NO chemicals. Highly recommend!

My first copy of this book was entitled "Gold Medal: A Century of Success Cookbook" and was offered free with Gold Medal Flour proofs of purchase. I have loved the recipes from the first time I used one and tried to find another copy of the book years later with no luck. Then I discovered that the title had been changed and "Voila", was very pleased to be able to get a second copy for our summer camp. These are the old, tried and true recipes our mothers used and my favorite is for the potato yeast bread; an easy, never-fail recipe that is delicious. If you like to bake, this is the book for you.
