I love my crock pot. I cook with it about 3-4 times a week and I'm always looking for new things to make in it. Up until I got this book I was getting my recipes exclusively online because it seems like so many books out there use cream of mushroom soup as their main ingredient... BLEH! That can get old REAL fast!

So far I've cooked about 5 recipes from this book (I've only had it 2 weeks), and every single one was delicious! I have twin 2 year olds who tend to be my greatest critics, and they've eaten up everything I've made from this book.

I love the way it's organized, it seriously has a tab for everything! Plus there are beautiful pictures of nearly every recipe!

With 500 recipes, this book will keep me busy for a long time! LOVE IT!

This is a beautiful cookbook with great pictures, easy-to-follow recipes, and helpful tabbed sections. However, the reason I purchase a cookbook is to have a guide to making nutritious food for my family from scratch, so it annoys me to purchase a cookbook and find that a significant portion of the recipes call for prepared ingredients such as "2 packages frozen fully cooked meatballs" or "pasteurized process cheese spread with jalepeno peppers." Also, this cookbook relies too heavily on condensed soups for a supposedly fresh cookbook: condensed nacho cheese soup, condensed cream of chicken soup, condensed cream of celery soup. After looking through the book I would say more than half of the recipes do contain only fresh ingredients, but the presence of the others is still an annoyance to me. My family has food allergies and we have to avoid most prepared foods, especially things such as cream soups, so it is annoying and very time-consuming to have to find a way to convert those prepared composite ingredients, whereas a recipe calling for individual fresh ingredients is simple to convert.

Delicious recipes - easy to follow instructions - easy to find ingredients

I just ordered a second copy of this crockpot cookbook because my college-age daughter took mine back to school with her! This cookbook is chock full of delicious recipes. There are so many dishes I never dreamed of preparing with a crockpot! This isn't your standard "dried beans" cookbook. If you want to add variety to your crockpot repertoire, this is the book for you!

I have worked with this book for a couple of months now and have made quite a few great dinners with it. There are also a few inexcusably bad recipes, which being published by makers of the CrockPot I would not have expected to have been included in this book. Most frustratingly, there is NO INDEX - pretty tabbed sections, but when you want to find Chicken Tangier, is it in...Main Dishes - Poultry? International Sensations? Prize-Winning Recipes? Or somewhere else? It is crazy that you have to hunt through several tabbed sections for a recipe when a simple index would have been all that is necessary. Two, there is NO nutritional information given per recipe. Three, the book is in a five-ring binder with no way to add your own pages of recipes, so I am not sure what the point is of having it in a binder. Finally, save your $$ and go to their website ([...]) where you can find most of the recipes in the book plus many more, with reader ratings.

I recently got this cookbook because I love coming home and having a meal ready to go! (Especially on cold winter days!) Today I made the "Golden Pork with Cinnamon-Sugar Apples." It was SO GOOD! The pork was so tender that it just fell apart. And the apple flavor was real light - not overpowering at all. All I had to do when I got home was cut the apples and make a pot of rice. My fiance' enjoyed this meal as much as I did. Later this week I am making the "Turkey with Pecan-Cherry Stuffing."

If you have a slow cooker, GET THIS BOOK! If you don't have a slow cooker, go get one and then get this book. :)

There are so many recipes! It will keep you busy for a long time! The book is divided into the following sections:
tips and techniques, entertaining appetizers, dips and spreads, game day munchies, soups and stocks, stews, chilis, one-pot meals, 3-step recipes, 5 ingredients or less, prize-winning recipes, family favorites, main dishes: beef, main dishes: pork, main dishes: poultry, main dishes: seafood, main dishes: vegetarian, simple sides, breakfast and brunch, international sensations, gourmet cooking, light recipes, breads, cakes and desserts, and last but not least - beverages. WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR?!

The recipes contain ingredients that you can find at your local grocery store and the steps are very easy to follow.

If you love your slow cooker as much as I do, and even if you don't, you will LOVE this book!

There are over 500 recipes and almost all of them have a picture attached to them (a big PLUS for me!).

The recipes are grouped and tabbed (24 different food categories). Some fo the categories: Entertaining Appetizers, Dips and Spreads, One-Pot Meals, 5 different main dishes (beef, pork, chicken, seafood, vegetarian) and even desserts and drinks (warm stuff like chai tea and cider)!

The picture are beautiful and instructions are clear. It also comes in a 5-ring binder so the pages are easy to turn and stay open.

Anyhoo--hope you will enjoy this cookbook as much as I'm sure I will.
