This backpack is perfect for a young child. My son will start Kindergarten this year and he is so excited to use his new bag. Bag is excellent quality and the perfect size for a small child in the early years of school.

Good quality. Just the right size. Best part is the oversized zipper pulls, which will make it easy for kid's to open/close the bag. Designs by Crocodile Creek are are lot more tasteful than many of the ubiquitous, tacky TV/Movie character themed products.

I opted to purchase a backpack online after having a bit of problem finding a decent backpack for a small child (Age 4) that was not riddled with cartoon characters. My son loves dinosaurs and I found this to be a nice little backpack for him. If you are acquainted with Crocodile Creek products, they are usually very beautiful. This one is no exception, the stegosaurus on the front pocket is lovely, looks like it was painted on. There are images of different dinosaurs and even a pterosaur along the edge. The images are very clean and nice.

It is still just a little bit big for my son. The torso length of this was a bit longer than my son's for an appropriate, accurate fit, however he loved it and I'm sure will grow into it in a year or so. (Although it does perfectly fit the homework folder that his teacher gave him) The back is not fully padded, so I wouldn't put too much stuff into it, maybe just a light binder and a few small books. The straps are lightly padded, but obviously not designed for much weight. After reading this, I realize how ridiculous this sounds. The child is 4, he obviously won't be lugging huge textbooks just quite yet, and if I wanted him to carry a pack. I'd be giving him a product designed to be a hiking pack.

If you like things all cute and matching, there is an entire line of matching products (lunchbox, water bottle, dinnerware, place setting, puzzle (Highly recommended from me), bib, etc).

I initially purchased a Four Peas backpack (sight unseen) and boy was I disappointed w/the quality of that bag! Save your $$$. My son didn't even like it (it had a motorcycle on it). I then found the Crocodile Creek backpacks & wish I had found them first! Nice, durable thicker material (unlike the cheap Four Peas .. not cheap in price though, let me tell ya), great zipper pulls and a zipper that works smoothly, few different compartments, water bottle holder ... seriously, this bag is perfect! And .. the true test .. my toddler absolutely LOVES it! I also bought the matching lunchbox & it's just as fabulous! These items are going to last unlike the Four Peas brand. I will definitely be purchasing another Crocodile Creek bag in the future when my daughter starts preschool.

My son and I both LOVE this backpack. The colors are vibrant and really stand out. It's the perfect size for a preschooler. It's not too big but a folder and everything else he needs fits easily. It's also quite durable. I could see him using this for both years of preschool and kindergarten. I would highly recommend this!

Our son is 3 1/2. The size is perfect, lots of room on the inside compartments and the colors so vibrant. He loves it and we do too!

We got this backpack for my son when he started his preschool class at 3. He is 4.5 now and it still works great for every day use. It is light enough for him to carry and holds the folder and a few things he needs to take to school each day. I like that it is a non-licensed character product as well. We have so much Thomas, Buzz Lightyear, etc, I appreciate when we can get him simple items that he really likes.

Perfect size for my four year old. Made with safe materials. Goes nicely with the dinosaur lunch box and water bottle. Great product line.
