5.0 out of 5 stars More than my son...
My mother bought Crocodile Smile for my son when he was one. Heloves it and is always asking for "the blue tape," but I'mthe one who can't stop humming it. It is the most interesting children's music that we own (both music and lyrics). I'm buying it for gifts for others. END

2.0 out of 5 stars Not worth listening to
I got this for my kids on the basis of the review and the idea behind it-having animals talk about their situations in songs. The singer has a very high soprano, that's too syrupy for me and made the lyrics unintelligible. My kids were barely interested, and so it has only been played once.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is warm and wonderful!, November 9, 1999

The songs are fun for the kids, however they are poinantly meaningful for the adults. The artists voice is very soothing and I use it every night to put my 3yo son to bed. I love this book and tape... It is one of my house holds favorites!

5.0 out of 5 stars Second Time Around, January 28, 2006
I was given a signed copy (by Sarah Weeks) and cassette tape when my boys were young (they are 15 & 17 now). My boys & I always had it in our car for road trips and knew all of the words to every song. I no longer have the cassette and am going to buy the CD for the book, as I am pregnant now with a little girl and can't wait to share the songs with her!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent concepts taught with heart warming songs., July 30, 1999
This review is from: Crocodile Smile: 10 Songs of the Earth as the Animals See (Hardcover)
My wife and I are both teachers who have a 7 year old daughter. I'm not sure who likes the music more, my daughter, or her mother and me. There are songs on the tape that have a very special meaning for adults. Tom Chapin is great, but this Sarah Weeks tape is our favorite.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderfully inspiring and fun songs., February 27, 1999

Before my 9 year old daughter Paigé passed away, she spent 6 months in the hospital receiveing chemotherapy treatments for Leukemia and whenever she was sad she would play this tape and read this book to perk up her spirits. I still listen to the music whenever I want to think of Paigé. I highly recommend it!

4.0 out of 5 stars neat book, November 7, 2004
This is a unique book and cd combination. Each page features an animal and a song written from the point of view of that animal. Some of the animals featured are a dinosaur, a panda and a turtle.

Most of the songs are soft and slow. This would make a great bedtime cd and book.

Young children who are animal lovers will enjoy this book and CD. It will be neat for them to try and think the way their favorite animal thinks.

When I was younger I loved this book and would listen to the tape all the time. I bet if I heard the tape today I would still know every word. I recomend this book for any kid!

My son loves this tape. He's listened to it so much that he has worn it out and now I need to purchase another copy. Excellent bedtime songs but also great for driving to school.

We haven't spent much time with the book, but my 3 year old LOVES the tape. She knows all the words and they have been food for some good conversation.
