Book Description

December 31, 2000
This collection of Duane Niatum’s new and selected earlier work is his sixth book of poems. Among the poems reprinted here is the series “Moon Stories,” now substantially rewritten. Always praised as one of the most talented and distinguished Native American writers, Niatum extends his range in this volume, fusing together the poems of thirty years of passionate endeavor and offering testimony to the risks of the heart as well as the mind and body, particularly in the section “Love Changes the Spirit and the Dance.”
