Masterfully written and beautifully paced, Ms. Ferrer's story of a mother battling adversity to obtain proper medical treatment for her infant son, stricken with scoliosis, reads like a well-crafted thriller. By turns heartbreaking and hilarious, this fictionalized account of her very personal journey is a testament to the power of love.

I believe I understand the human condition a little better now than I did before I read "Crooked Love," and isn't that what novels are supposed to do for us?

CROOKED LOVE is a great book by a talented writer. I felt as if I could "see" the story as I was reading it, maybe because I live in Los Angeles, but most likely because Ms. Ferrer is gifted at telling a tale. The story about a child with a disease, which can be very dark and scary, is told in such a way with breaks of comic relief that don't seem contrived but true to life. After all, sometimes it's life bleakest moments that can bring the most hilarious light to the situation. This is the hope that makes CROOKED LOVE a true-to-life uplifting Good Read!

This book has great characters that you instantly want to cheer for. While it is a story that revolves around a medical condition, the terminology and technical aspects of the book are written in a way that won't overwhelm you.

I couldn't put it down. The author paints vivid pictures in your head and really pulls you into the story. I would definitely suggest you read it.

Very well written thought out book. As a mother with a son going threw what fin did,I could relate to Kai very much. You could feel Kai motherly emotions. The story to go along with it kept me on edge. I did not want to put the book down. With all the details very well described I felt like it was playing out in my head. And the medical descriptions was also greatly written and explained I must say. I would recommend this book to anyone, especially anyone who has been touched by progressive infantile scoliosis.

Loved this booked! It was so detailed and relatable as we go through a similar situation of infantile scoliosis. It felt so good reading about the same experiences and emotions that Kai went through. The love story added excitement and some steamy entertainment at times. It was such a nice positive touch. I highly recommend this book for a fun read as well as helping you to get through a difficult medical challenge.
