The Croozer cargo bicycle trailer is a 30.5" (l) x 19.5" (w) x 13.5" (h) platform supporting up to 66 lbs of cargo, that attaches to the rear axle of any bicycle, providing plenty of space for groceries and running routine errands.

Tool-Free Assembly and Connection to Bicycles

The Croozer Designs cargo bicycle trailer body consists of a single piece cargo section composed of rugged steel tube framing interwoven within weather-resistent side walls. This in turn is connected to a solid plastic floor. The lengthwise frame tubing sections, with the connected side walls, fold up and down from the floor section. When the side walls are in the up position, additional tubing sections swing out at a 90-degree angle, where they connect to the opposite side wall, and are held in place with an included star-shaped knob. Tautness of side walls can be adjusted with integrated exterior straps. The included weather cover is fully removable, and utilizes Velcro connections and proximity to knob structures to stay in place. All assembly and disassembly are done without the use of any tools. The trailer contacts the road via two 16" spoked wheels, which are fitted to the trailer with included clip bolts, which slip through the wheel axle and are fastened in place with a spring section built into the bolt. Bolts are also connected to the trailer with straps, which ensure that they will never be misplaced, even when wheels are removed.

The trailer connects to a towing bicycle by a combination of a metal hitch that attaches to the rear axle of the bicycle wheel, and a single rugged drawbar with a coupling element at its end. Both the hitch and the drawbar are left-aligned, attaching to the bike, opposite the rear derailer. This eliminates the possibility of trailer interference with the shifting of bicycle gears. The hitch is semi-permanently mounted on the rear axle, and is compatible with both axle nut and quick release hub configurations. The coupling at the terminus of the drawbar slides over the hitch and is secured with a spring bolt clip. The bolt is strapped to the drawbar, so it will never be lost when the trailer is removed. The drawbar also has a safety strap connected to it that wraps around the bike frame. This ensures a connection to the trailer in the unlikely event of the drawbar disconnecting from the hitch during use. The drawbar section just below the coupling is flexible, providing smooth pivoting into turns. The connection point of the drawbar to the trailer has two setting. The standard level setting is for use when towing, while the additional raised setting -- altered with its spring clip bolt -- conveniently allows for use of the trailer as a hand cart when away from bicycles.

Folds Away for Storage and Security

A prime, non-hauling related feature of the cargo bicycle trailer is its ability to quickly and easily fold flat. This allows for convenient storage before and after use, and as a way to secure the unit during use, but away from a bicycle. To detach the drawbar from the trailer, release both spring clip loops and remove the bolts and the safety strap. Then pull the drawbar out towards the side. To detach the wheels also remove the spring clip bolts. It is then possible to fold the basic unit inwards after slackening and removing the star grip bolts, and undoing the Velcro strips on the diagonal tubes. Components can be lashed together with optional straps (sold separately).

I purchased this from Amazon for $200 w/ shipping and everything. I wanted a cargo trailer that would fold and that was rectangular. This is the only one that I found after a quick search. w/ free shipping it was hard to pass up.

All around it's a good folding design. It's similar in quality to a child's trailer. Some of the joints are plastic, while I wish they would be metal. I'm concerned it will wear out after a lot of use (how I plan to use it). If you don't need it to fold up, you might want to purchase a rigid all-metal trailer.

I bought this trailer for a 75 year old friend who is still riding !!!, and needed cargo space for grocery store runs
amazon sent it fast ,it went together easy and he likes it ,,,but he don't haul much,,

, the floor is coro-plast or some such ,held on with pop-rivets and washers, there is a center support but the floor seems flimsy,,

the sides are cloth held on by Velcro tabs one of witch tore at the stitching on the first touch, turns out the machine only caught two stitches on the tab and thats where it let go checked the rest and they seem solid

the front and rear upper bars are on a swivel for folding and the swivel seemed lighter than I would like

the cargo area is big and would hold a weeks chow for two easy

the hitch is a heavy spring and seems good for its use ,,I didn't show my friend how it went on and he hooked it up with the spring making a 180 deg. arc back to the trailer and rode like that for a mile or so,,, when I saw it I turned it around ,, the spring was only very slightly deformed

the hitch arm is held in place by two pins ,one of witch has a second position that lifts the arm end up about a foot ,making it easer to use as a hand cart,, ,he has used this to pick up his senior food box(35lbs.) from the office at his complex and wheel it home about a city block up a slight grade and didn't get winded ,,, also good for laundry day

He says that he "don't feel it back there" and with 24lbs.

I got this several months ago, primarily for grocery shopping, and it's one of the best investments I've made in a long time. Instead of having to go grocery shopping at corner stores every single day using my backpack, I can go once every one or two weeks with my cargo trailer, saving time and money. I like to detach it from the bicycle and roll it right into the store and fill it up, thereby avoiding the use of grocery bags entirely.

I do feel its weight, even when empty, and have to go at a slightly lower gear up hills, but it's much much easier than carrying the same weight on my back. When full it adds a lot of momentum to the bike, increasing stopping distance, but that's to be expected. As an unexpected side effect it somewhat increases stability of the bike. It also navigates turns brilliantly - I've weaved between obstacles with it behind me with no problem, but I do have to be conscious of the fact that it's wider than the bicycle itself. The rain cover does its job at keeping the insides dry, but it doesn't feel quite as secure as I'd like. The metal latches are also a bit stubborn sometimes at fitting through the holes and require turning back and forth as I push on them, but it's not a big deal. I worry when crossing streets that a car might not see it because it's low to the ground, especially at night, but so far they all seem to see it with no problem.

I use my croozer bike trailer as a garden tractor with my bike to haul tools up and down a 0.2 mile long driveway at my cottage. Holding up well, easy to put together, hauls my light projects well.

This bike trailer is a marvel of engineering! All components are attached so they cannot be lost (except the tires and handle). The cart lies flat when unassembled and is easily assembled in minutes. I loaded it with luggage (overloaded actually!) The cart worked great. I was vacationing on Martha's Vineyard and along my travels, went through bumps and sand and it was stable. I put a lot of miles on the trailer and got perfect performance. LOVE IT!

We bought this trailer to haul bigger things with our bikes - namely groceries. It works fairly well in this purpose. I have hauled pretty close to 100 pounds in it without much trouble. A few observations: (1) The bike surges more when the trailer is loaded, especially when climbing a hill - it can be disconcerting. (2) The axle mount for the trailer will rotate forward on your quick release due to the torque from the weight - I really had to crank the quick release down hard to counter this. (3) Bike handling is virtually unchanged when the trailer is unloaded, but quite different when loaded. All in all I really like this trailer. It could use some improvements like tie downs for bungie cords, and a straighter axles (the wheels toe out a little). If you want to park your car for days or weeks on end, and really feel good about hauling stuff with your bike, this trailer will make it happen.
Happy Trails!
