5.0 out of 5 stars If you dislike plastic liners, this is a perfect alternative
I no longer buy plastic shower curtain liners due to the outgassing odors that the new shower curtains emit. The smell is so strong and toxic it makes me ill. So now I only buy the fabric liners which do a decent job of keeping shower droplets/spray in. My last liner bit the dust so this one was an excellent replacement for an excellent price ($11) with free shipping...

1.0 out of 5 stars Rusts at top/ DEFECTIVE
This looked so beautiful when I put it up, I was so excited, but the holes at the top started rusting within a week, which of course ran down onto the white shower curtain. My mother bought an identical one at Wal-Mart, which she had no rust problems with. I looked up close and hers seemed to be "closed in" around the holes & mine was exposed on the back side, which...

5.0 out of 5 stars THE VERY BEST, August 10, 2007

I have four of these and love them. I do not use two curtains -- just this one). I actually ironed the pleats in so it hangs like a drape and when not using can be pushed back against the wall on the ouside of the tub -- very attractive. I've gotten so many comments on it. The ironed pleats have remained after many washings (cold water, bleach, hang to dry). The package said not to bleach but I use bleach every time I wash it (every few weeks). You will not be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Durable and distinctive, November 4, 2006

I have purchased a couple of these liners and am satisfied with how well they hold up. The striped fabric is a nice and light alternative to the heavy plastic of standard liners. The seams are durable and keep out mildew. Plus, with Amazon's Super Saver shipping, you can always find an affordable and quick replacement.

My mother bought an identical one at Wal-Mart, which she had no rust problems with. I looked up close and hers seemed to be "closed in" around the holes & mine was exposed on the back side, which allowed the water in to create the rust. I suspect this is a defective group, as both curtains I purchased here did this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Durable! Last forever!!, March 21, 2008

This review is from: Croscill Fabric Shower Curtain Liner, White (Kitchen)
I originally bought three of these for the ring-enclosure on a claw-footed tub, and have since moved, taking the curtains with me. We've used them every single day for the past 7 or 8 years, and I'm still on the first set. Yes, they eventually mildew -- I take them down every 2-3 months and wash with bleach. No damage, if I fill the machine first, add bleach, then toss in the curtains. Recently I started using a plastic clip to hold the curtain up while it dries -- if it air dries quickly instead of sticking to the side of the tub, I can go twice as long between washings.

I bought these because they're soft, sheer, and much more attractive than vinyl, but I never dreamed they'd last almost a decade. How much more can you ask of an inexpensive item??

1.0 out of 5 stars No mold resistance, March 15, 2008
By
This review is from: Croscill Fabric Shower Curtain Liner, White (Kitchen)
After having this shower curtain for a month I am ready to throw it out and go back to a vinyl shower curtain liner. I really liked this one because I like the way it looks and it is nice having a fabric liner, but the curtain has no mold resistant properties. After just a couple showers mold was growing at the bottom. Now (about a month later) there is a lot of mold all the way across the bottom 1/4 of the curtain. After reading the reviews here we are going to pull it down and wash it in the washing machine, but most likely we'll purchase a vinyl liner in the near future which should go 6 months before it needs to be replaced due to mold.

4.0 out of 5 stars Comparing Croscill and InterDesign curtains, April 7, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Croscill Fabric Shower Curtain Liner, White (Kitchen)
We have an old bearclaw bathtub so we need two shower curtains, one for each side of the tub. We bought one Croscill Fabric Shower Curtain/Liner, and one InterDesign Fabric Waterproof Shower Curtain. They are both 100% polyester, but could not be more different. Croscill is probably twice as thick, actually feels like fabric, and has metal grommets for the shower curtain hooks. InterDesign feels almost like it's vinyl, not fabric. It feels very thin, and has reinforced seams for the holes for shower hooks. It's not waterproof - the outside face is damp to the touch after we shower, whereas the Croscill one is moderately dry.

Both of them are fabric, so a bit of moisture does get through. But, the amount of seepage not enough to get anything else wet unless it's actually touching the fabric. The seepage is notably greater for the InterDesign version but not a concern for us because the curtain is not touching anything. We have very low-flow shower heads, so it may be worse for others.

We've had these for two months, and the InterDesign is already growing mold, while the Croscill is not. We haven't yet washed them so I can't rate their ability to withstand washing, or rust around the grommets (for the Croscill). Hence, I have given it 4 stars pending those tests. But, so far if I were to buy these over, I would definitely buy two Croscills and avoid the InterDesign.

1.0 out of 5 stars Nasty mold smell after a few uses, October 28, 2009
This review is from: Croscill Fabric Shower Curtain Liner, White (Kitchen)
Unfortunately, I was looking for a good alternative to the plastic shower curtain liners and this was definately not it! After only a few showers, the material started to smell moldy at the bottom... so much so, that in less than the 5 months we've owned it, I've washed it at least 4 times! The polyester fabric holds the smell in.... So, I'm looking to try a cotton liner this time. Hopefully the cotton will not smell ... (Also to note, I bought two of these liners for 2 bathrooms). I only use one bathroom and my husband & son use the other ... so it's not like we have 10 people showering daily....in my bathroom, it's only me, and in theirs it's 2 people showering daily. I would NOT recommend this product.

Maybe the sagging economy caused this decline in quality. Croscill once provided a great shower liner/curtain. Now, with an altered design, it's a leaky, worthless object. Don't buy it! This was once a reliable product. Now, adorned with striped fabric that is NOT water resistant, as the product claims, it will not work. Don't waste your money.
