From the Manufacturer

The very familiar three-slot style pay phone was first introduced in the 1950's and remained virtually unchanged until 1965. This appropriately christened prepay-style pay station will take you back to the days of old fashioned phone booths and 10-cent phone calls. Believe it or not, its predecessor was a post pay-style phone that actually allowed the caller to place their call and then pay once finished. While you don't have to pay for your calls with this Crosley replica, you will enjoy the functional coin slots complete with Crosley jingle as your money is deposited into the coin bank in the base of the unit.

What's in the Box
CR56 pay phone, bank key, handset, felt handset cord, wall mounting hardware, phone cord, user's guide

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice, but kinda cheap..., December 15, 2005
This review is from: Crosley CR56 1950's Pay Phone -Black (Office Product)
Nice reproduction, but made out of cheap looking plastic. Ring tone is modern style, instead of old fashioned ring.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good conversation piece and great way to save spare change, March 21, 2005
By
Telephone works well and looks and feels like a real pay phone. It does double as a bank and the family puts extra change in it to save up for DVD rentals and pizza nights. The red phone looks great against the yellow wall in our kitchen. The Amazon price including shipping is still less than anywhere else including Ebay ($68). The only drawbacks are the chrome accents are over plastic and there is a modern ringer on the telephone.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not sure of operation, but was made of cheap plastic, November 9, 2004

Sean (New Rochelle, NY) - See all my reviews
From the look of this phone, I was hoping that the phone would be more of a metalic quality. While some parts of the phone are metal, there is actually a lot of plastic. I took it out of the box and it just had that cheap feeling to it. I do not really return things often, but this went back right away. Nothing against the seller -- I received prompt delivery and processing of my return -- this is just not a high quality product. I must admit that I did not even plug it in, so I can not vouch for call clarity, etc. Overall, I was very disappointed in the quality of this product and would not recommend it if you are looking for something of substance.
