5.0 out of 5 stars Great sound! Spend the extra bucks, you won't regret it!
I love this player. I was going to get one of the cheaper Crosley turntables but decided to spring for this one because it also has a CD player, tape player, AM/FM tuner and a USB connection. It has input for bigger speakers but on its own it has great sound. I was surprised, actually how good it sounded. It's large and sturdy and very attractive. This was a late Xmas...

The description says: "Simply put the record or tape on, load your re-writable CD and press the "record" button to get the ball rollin'." First of all, all it does with a tape is play it. You cannot record a tape at all. It makes it sound like the machine has a CD recorder on it. It does not. You hook your computer to the machine and you can copy an LP to your computer then you use your computer to cut a CD. Getting it to come out right takes some time and study. So, what you have is a CD player, a cassette player, and record player, and a USB cord so you can connect the record player to your computer. The software is freeware and not especially easy to use.

3.0 out of 5 stars had to return, March 10, 2011

This review is from: Crosley Archiver USB Turntable (Electronics)
I wasn't as impressed with this when it arrived. Luckily it wasn't damage because the box had been through hell. It also didn't arrive with a needle - it looked like it had been returned at one point. Ended up returning this for those reasons plus I mismeasured the space I intended it to fit. I was amazed the tuner wasn't digital and the knobs were so cheap feeling. Anyway - great idea though. If it had arrived brand new with the needle and had fit, I would have kept it. Also, it only burns CDs through the computer - it's not a direct burner - which I wasn't clear on.

4.0 out of 5 stars For a cheap all in one..it works., February 17, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this being very wary of the Crosley brand and always hearing about them being crap etc. When I got this I couldn't be happier. The cd, cassette, and vinyl functions work perfectly. The only downside I could find to this is the speakers. Which really aren't bad at all for what they are. I plugged some external speakers into it though and that really boosted the bass and helped it become a whole new beast. I would definately buy this product again for the price.

2.0 out of 5 stars Hard to use, didn't really do what I wanted, November 15, 2011
I wanted to record directly from a record to my computer, but this turntable did not do that. The description online was confusing enough that we thought it did. We returned the item.

Works great right out of the box, very well packed.Speaker sound is great ,I dont play it loud.My late wife had a record collection of 300. Its a lot of pleasure to hear the quality of vinyl over cd's. The controls are simple once you get used to the different selections. This is a simple machine to operate and hopefully gives me years of pleasure. It also looks great.

4.0 out of 5 stars favorite model, December 4, 2011
By
cmos "eguym" (Orlando, FL United States) - See all my reviews
This is my favorite. I've been around, or have seen the other models but, this has the cleanest look. I'm talking about the Archiver paprika with black panels model. The red LED display only turns on when the function is set to CD. Think of this as a piece of decorative furniture that can play music from multiple sources. I say this because, it would be ridiculous to compare this to an Onkyo component system. That said, I like what this can do. The sound is what you would expect from a couple of compact integrated speakers. However just for the heck of it, I connected a set of Harman Kardon SoundSticks (2.1 channel speakers) and was duly blown away at just how awesome it sounds. Have yet to try the software but, I'll bet it's the same software that comes with the Keepsake turntable model. It is what it is, I'm giving it 4 stars because I think some basic adjustments for the tonearm need to be included and the packaging is not worthy of the toughest ground shippers.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it, July 28, 2011
Have had this turntable for almost a year, and it has given me no issues.

Love the design of the the Flat Black and Chrome that give a modern retro fell.

The built in speakers surprising put out quite a bit of sound.

Overall no complaints and well worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice sound, March 31, 2011
After downsizing to a new home a couple years ago we no longer had a turntable. We decided to order a player we could hook to the PC. We could not be happier with this unit. Expectations were not high for the price we were paying. It was a wonderful sup rice how nice the sound is. All week it has been a pleasure rediscovering our record collection with this unit.
