I don't think that I will be purchasing anything with the Crosley name in the future from what this experience has taught me.

This record player is very neat looking, much better than what you see in the pictures. It closes into a suitcase and has space inside for the power supply and usb cable. What makes this the best portable record player made in years the fact that it has a magnetic cartridge made by Audio Technica rather than the poor quality ceramic cartridges available in most portable record players made today. The stylus can be replaced and a 78 rpm cartridge installed for proper playback of 78 records. The sound is very good and loud. The tone controls works as expected. Great little portable record player for the price. Crosley please make more turntables like this one! Don't use cheap ceramic cartridges!

Ok, so I didn't buy this on Amazon, but I felt it was important to warn people about this "cute" player. The first time I ordered it, just over a year ago, it worked. No problem, sounded great. Then the needle, which appears to be at least partially plastic, broke.
So I sent it to Crosley itself for repairs. I got the repaired/replaced player, but I go to use it and every record I play on it, regardless of age, sounds like it hit the martinis harder than Dean Martin--warped and alternating between fast and slow.
So I sent it back again. I very carefully try the replacement they send me, same model of player, and it plays records about 10% too fast right out of the box. Michael Jackson was already a little high anyway, but I compared it to the same song played online and it was definitely too fast, and so was anything else I tried.
So I sent it back. Again. This time tech support told me they would check it at least twice to make sure it doesn't play too fast. Behold, the latest one has the SAME problem very first time I use it--plays at 35-36 RPM instead of 33 (I counted to be sure), and there's no way to fix the darn thing. I'm a patient person and just wanted a working player, but it took an entire summer and three returns to find out this player is just cheaply made, and all it's good for is looking adorably faux-retro. The only thing deserving a star is Crosley's return policy (free returns within warranty and free shipping label), because this record player certainly doesn't. And it is taking up space in my living room now waiting to be returned yet again, for a refund this time. I expected much more from the famous Crosley company. Please don't buy this player. Please?

I really love the look of this turntable, its portable with a handle and the sound is great for this little box of fun. I wasn't expecting that at all. My complaint is with 45's, we tend to hear the record stop without playing the last 5+ seconds of the end of the record. My husband said that the arm doesn't extend as fair as needed to pay the smaller records. BTW No automatic arm movement of any kind.

I would buy it again but maybe if it was $50-$75.

sound was better than expected. very easy to use, but the arm must be placed manually. The on/off switch is located under where a full size LP covers and makes it more difficult to reach.

I had my eye on this record player for months before I actually decided to buy it. When it arrived I was extra excited to play my records. Unforunately the record player would not spin. After calling Crosely I was instructed to unplug the unit for 24 hours and then re-plug. After doing that for several days, it finally worked. Only to stop working two weeks later. To much of a hassle. This unit is not dependable and extremely disappointing. Buyers be very aware.

The first turntable that arrived was broken in the box. It wouldn't even start up and had a rubber belt hanging out of the turntable.

So I returned it and received another one a week later.

The replacement turntable worked fine. The construction is kinda flimsy, and the arm doesn't stay on its holder very well when you're not using it. After a 3 or 4 weeks (and not a whole lot of uses) the records started playing slower. Now the pitch is significantly lower, making the device unusable.

I'm only hoping that I can return the item for a refund—NOT a replacement.

Turntable is working well so far. It sounds good and is a tidy little package which works well for bringing along in the car to my English class and playing songs near an electrical outlet. It seems well built. The software, "Audacity," that it came with was out of date. I was able to download a newer version for free, but this took some time and frustration to figure out. "Audacity" is going to take some practice and I could use a class to really learn to use it, but I was able to digitize some songs with a little perseverance. I'm quite happy with this record player.
