4.0 out of 5 stars Cute and retro!
My son got this for Christmas and for some weird reason it would not always play when we pushed play for the cd....sometimes we had to push the button several times then push stop to get it to play...it would also switch to military time at random. These things happen even with the best of electronics, sometimes exchanges need to be made. We ordered another and returned...

I loved the picture of this item...I had just the place to put it in my home where it would look great. It does look great. It just hardly works. The whole thing only weighs a pound or two...this should have clued me in right away when unpacking it. The switches have an imprecise and awful feel and seem very delicate. I loved the picture of this item...I had just the place to put it in my home where it would look great. It does look great. It just hardly works. The whole thing only weighs a pound or two...this should have clued me in right away when unpacking it. The switches have an imprecise and awful feel and seem very delicate. The sound quality is very poor (Remember those less than $5 transistor radios?) and the reception is worse. Even the strongest stations in my area only come in with a great deal of fuzzy sound and you can always hear the radio stations near them in the back ground. I haven't bought anything electronic that was this bad in years. Don't be fooled by the good looks...in this case beauty really is only skin deep.

These things happen even with the best of electronics, sometimes exchanges need to be made. We ordered another and returned the first one, we haven't had any problems and it has been working perfectly. It looks great in his room, and we love it! I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a cute retro style radio. My son loves cars and it goes perfectly in his room with all of his vintage car signs. We also plan to purchase it in pink for our daughter. Overall it is a great radio/cd player!

4.0 out of 5 stars Very cute, May 27, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this for my daugters' room. Its just as pictured online. I thought it'd be a bit more sturdy feeling than it is. You have to close the CD player at just the right part near the element that locks near the release button. The sound is good and clear. The volume is pretty impressive. My daughters are ages 3 1/2 yrs and 6 mo. My older daughter just loves it.

I bought this for my son's room. Very cute retro car look. Plays CD's and radio. Be sure to check dimensions because it is bigger than many sold now but the style is why I bought it!

I purchased this for my daughter's 7th birthday for the CD alarm function. She is thrilled that she can choose what she wakes up to in the morning and it makes getting up for school a little easier. I wanted a radio that a little girl would like (it's pink) without being too young (I don't do characters). She loves it and is often in her room just listening to her music. The sound quality is not great, but fine given the audience in this case. What is troublesome is the sensitive switches. Every night I check that the CD is the right volume and make sure the alarm is set to "CD." However, many mornings, my daughter wakes up to the buzzer despite the settings. I check all the time to see if it was my mistake. It's still set to CD mode, but the radio seems to have a mind of its own. It's an upsetting way for her to start the day. As was stated in an earlier review, the CDs do not always play immediately. I find I have to turn the power off and on again and play with it, otherwise the disc will just spin. I am disappointed and would not get another one.

1.0 out of 5 stars Looks good ,BUT!, March 22, 2010
This review is from: Crosley Radio Cr612-Bk Corsair Alarm Clock/Radio (Black) (Electronics)
The radio looks real good, sounds good but the cd would only play 3 songs and stop. Called customer service no problem at all, was taken care of. Only problem was I wanted the unit but when I ask it to be replaced I was told they would not replace it because it had been a problem on other units.

I ordered the Crosley Corsair radio from Amazon and it was sent to me by Beach Camera. It arrived and did not work when I plugged it in. Not a sound. I called Beach Camera, who told me they would replace it. They sent me a free shipping label and I returned it to them by fed ex. I didn't hear from them for a long time. When I finally called them to find out where my replacement was, they told me it was no longer in stock. Since the charge was on my visa, I told them to refund my visa account and that I would get another radio from someone else. I still have not received my Visa credit. I purchased a crosley solo radio from the local Target store and am very happy with it. This was a particularly unsatisfactory Amazon experience.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cool Radio, Good Sound, January 9, 2011
This review is from: Crosley Radio Cr612-Bk Corsair Alarm Clock/Radio (Black) (Electronics)
I did a lot of on line reasearch before ordering this radio from Amazon. What really impressed me was that the radio was sitting on my door step less than 48 hours after I ordered it. Impressive, especially since it was shipped outside of the USA.
So far the radio has performed great. The switch gear on the front of the radio has a good solid feel. The CD lid on top of the unit is a bit flimsy, but works well.
The CD player has all the usual features for a unit this size and price, allowing you too repeat a selected song or a whole CD.
The sound is very good for a unit this size. There is no treble or bass control, but the factory settings are about right for AM/FM radio and playing CD's.
This unit has an alarm clock feature. I would not buy this radio if my primary need was for a clock radio. It works, and works well, but is too small to read from more than a few feet away. But then, a Retro radio would not look very good if the digital clock took up all the cool features by being too big.
This radio is all that I had expected, cool looks, good quality, decent sound.

4.0 out of 5 stars Crosby Alarm Clock Radio with CD Player, January 15, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Crosley Radio Cr612-Bk Corsair Alarm Clock/Radio (Black) (Electronics)
The Alarm Clock Radio works well and has good sound quality. I bought it based a lot on looks and the fact that it still had a CD Player with it instead of an IPod Dock. Also it looked to be good quality unlike some of the other CD player alarm clocks sold in stores.

5.0 out of 5 stars awesome little cd/radio, January 13, 2012

I love this little radio. I read some of the reviews after buying it and still don't know why people wrote bad things. It is not only two pounds like someone wrote it is light but not that light and I put it on my desk at work and I get a lot of compliments on it. It's gorgeous and does not sound bad at all. A lot of people want mp3 players so it's old school but I like old school and I'm sure a lot of other people do also. It is just perfect for me.
