I didn't have huge expectations for a table-top transistor radio, so I wasn't disappointed. The looks are swell. It plays cds very nicely but is a real light-weight on the bass. I have not had problems with either the on/off or the clock time changing and it's been plugged in for six months or more. My only negative is that you can forget trying to dial to a station number. 90.5 comes in at 101, 92.5 comes in somewhere around 99. reminds me of a build-your-own-radio from scratch toy we got for Christmas one year. However, the three stations I listen to the most do come in. I think people who are used to digital radio and frequency-drift searching technology will be disappointed. You're paying for the looks, that's true. Still, I'm keeping it because it's nearly impossible to find a radio that plays cd's, too. I've been told they're nearly obsolete. But I don't want to invest even more $100's in ipod technology. (MP3 - please! if you like music to sound like music, I'd rather have an old vinyl. Mp3s I have downloaded are sampled poorly, equalization is nil, and skips become a permanent part of the recording.)

Sounds Lousy....But Looks So Cool,

This review is from: Crosley Radio Cr612-Bl Corsair Alarm Clock/Radio (Blue) (Electronics)
I have this radio in my kitchen which has an old 50s style look to it. The bright royal blue retro look goes perfectly with the walls and decor. The local stations all come in nicely, and there is a stereo light button that locks in on the strongest setting. One of the coolest things about this unit is that the dial lights up brightly when turned on. Very nice touch. (Newer radios never have lighted dials. And as of this writing, no other reviewer has mentioned it). The only down side to this radio is that it sounds really lousy. I mean it really has a terrible sound to it. Everything is very muffled and there are no tone controls to help clean it up. For the $70 I paid it would have been nice if they had put a little more effort into the sound quality. However I have to say it sounds decent enough, and looks really cool if a retro look table radio is just what you're looking for. It has a CD player built into the top if you enjoy hearing a purely modern sound coming from the retro look, and as mentioned before, the lighted dial looks very cool. Especially at night. Finally, it comes in a variety of colors to match just about any decor. Recommended only for the non discerning retro enthusiast....

We have this same radio in pink, I needed another cd alam clock, so when I saw this at such a great price I couldn't pass it up. We haven't been disapointed, we've had the first one for about 3 years with no problems. It is super easy to use, my twin daughters love them. Great retro design too!
