Must be some fragile busted up circuitry in there.

I would have prefer an analog tuner but with more precise tuning knob.

Two months later, I just found out that the radio has never worked.

Just opened the box and this radio is a pure deception. Design is amazing, great retro look (beside the ACL display) but built quality is fair. Sound quality is a disaster. Tuner is not a real digital one, the rotating knob is not precise enough and you can loose your radio station very easy. I would have prefer an analog tuner but with more precise tuning knob. The auxiliary plug is bad, if you plug it to your Iphone/Ipod be careful not to move your Mp3 device to change a song, you could lose input sound right away. ACL display is flickering, sometimes is very dimmed and other times too bright.

I don't think I will buy any Crosley product again. They sure look sexy but this is it.

Real scam.

Cute, but when I plugged my iPhone into it, the song would skip in and out. Very annoying. Sound quality is marginal as well.

I bought one of these for a gift and it's a good thing I checked it out first. The tune knob isn't installed correctly and can make a full turn without engaging with the tuner. When set it on "auxiliary" - for an ipod connection - the radio still plays audibly in the background. Also, it will only work when it's plugged into the adapter into the wall. I put in all new batteries, changed them out once, and it still won't play off the batteries. It has to go back.

Since the day we got the songbird something seemed off about it. When I turned on the radio it would flash blue on the LED screen and keep turning on and off. When I turn the radio off the tuner LED stays on but you can't hear any music. After some fiddling it seemed to work for a few days but now it's busted again and the problem's not going away anymore. Must be some fragile busted up circuitry in there. Other than that despite having a digital screen the tuner's still analog and the time keeps getting reset after a few days and you have to set the date and time all over again. The build quality is plastic and cheap so it's no wonder the thing doesn't work. It may look like a cool retro radio but trust me, spend your money elsewhere. It's just a retro paper weight now.

Every morning when i turn my radio on it will shut on and off non stop. I have to play with the knob to get it to stop and this can take ten minutes. Dont waste your money. I thght it was cheap and cute but if it doesnt stop flashing the blue screen and play music its not worth it!!!!

I had one like this but it fell outside when i set it on a table so it no longer worked :{ I was totally bummed. I just got this same one and love it, make sure it doesnt fall as it is very fragile and will not work anymore if dropped. I use it for my ipod music and for taking to the drive in movies. Love the color :}

I bought this songbird radio a few months ago at the same time that I bought a Crosley Portable turntable for me and also one for my friend. I opened the radio first and it was so cute! I plugged it in and was almost immediately disappointed. The knobs are cheap and almost felt like they were broken to me. The volume knob will just turn around and around and to be honest the volume level, even at it's highest, is kinda low. The turner knob is even more disappointing. It is hard to tune it to a station. If I could just leave it tuned to my station that would be fine, but it randomly changes stations making me have to deal with the tuner more than I want to. This is literally the worst radio I have ever owned. I would return it but sadly I bought it from Gilt and it is not returnable. $40 down the drain. I feel like someone should have paid me to take this clunker off their hands. Naturally after seeing how poorly made the radio is I was worried about the turntables, fortunately they work like a dream!!!

We gave our grandson this radio for Christmas. His parents didn't want anything too juvenile and I thought this would be perfect and would grow with him. I read that it could be used as a speaker for an IPod or MP3 player etc. We all loved how it looked and they also thought it was great. Two months later, I just found out that the radio has never worked. Our son and wife didn't want to say anything and thought they were doing something wrong. It turned out that the flat battery inside had rust on it. How embarrassing! I bought this new and never ever did any of us ever expect part of the problem would be the battery. I would never recommend a Crosley product to anyone and only want to say "buyer beware."
