Exceptional System for the Price,
By
This review is from: Crosley Rochester Entertainment Center - Paprika (CR66-PA) (Electronics)
I'm really not sure what many of the more negative reviews are speaking of. One reviewer spoke of the records playing to quickly. As a musician I found absolutely nothing wrong with the pitch, and even tested the phonograph player's pitch next to a freshly-tuned piano. Nothing wrong.
It seems as though many of the negative reviewers' 'issues' could be solved by reading the instruction manual a bit more carefully. Also, don't be misinformed by the reviews that say the tape deck does not fast-forward. It does. Don't be misinformed by the reviews that say the tone arm won't lift or the turntable won't spin. They do. Again, these are things that can likely be remedied by reading the manual. It's unfortunate that other customers have had to deal with a defective CD player, although mine has yet to go bad and shows no signs of doing so, though I tend to handle this system as carefully as I handle other electronics I own. The warranty printed in the manual is pretty clear cut about such issues. I've owned the system for a while and in my household it has played everything from old Beatles to AC/DC to Wagner's Ring Cycle. The sound is great, and I'm sure as long as long as it's not abused or pushed beyond its limits, it will still function as amazingly as it does now.. At under a hundred dollars I'm impressed that it includes iPod capability. Having the four basics plus iPod capability at such a price and in such an attractive package is quite a value.

Great Deal,

I bought this to listen to some Led Zep LP's, but I also ended up listening to my cd's and they all sound great. I also enjoy talk radio, so this versatile machine is on most of the time and the cassette player plays cassettes, so I can't complain. My mother enjoys it more than I do, she played her old records the other day and she nearly teared up. There's nothing wrong that I can say about the crosley, unlike other record players at amazon, it works just fine. Friends are impressed and for what its worth, its a great deal.

This is s great looking turntable but for some reason it does not have Auxiliary audio and speaker outputs , this is necessary to convert my old records on to MP3s and also the volume when you play a record is very soft so I wanted to add extra speakers, other than that it was a great buy !

I purchased this at Target less than 5 months ago. It's a gorgeous unit and fits in really well with our decor. Over all I liked it, but the speakers started to fuzz out early on and I was not "blasting" it or anything. For some reason it especially didn't like harp music and you could hear the speakers rattling around at a moderate volume. I could deal with that even, but then the CD player went bad. Sometimes it would play and sometimes you could just hear the disk spinning around and around. I would put it back in over and over and only sometimes would it "catch" and play. I tried to return it to Target but it was beyond their 90 day return policy. I called Crosley and was told I had to pay to have it shipped back to them, and then pay another 20 bucks to have them look at it and then pay to have it shipped back to me. The unit was around 100 bucks, by the time I have to pay for shipping to and fro and 20 bucks to have them look at it, I could just buy another one. I was really disappointed with their customer service, and I'm a bit leery to try again.
Gorgeous unit and it could have been just my bad luck on this one, but hold on to your receipts!!

Plays too fast. ALL THREE that I purchased.,

To make a very long story very short, I first purchased from Crosley their 4 in 1 turntable, the product you see here.. It played too fast. Closer to 35-36 RPMs, making everyone sound like they were on helium.
So I returned it, and purchased the Crosley portable turntable in black. It also, played too fast, closer to 35-36 RPMs. So I returned that one, and purchased the Crosley protable turntable in tan. It also, ran too fast. The jist of it? Crosley turntables are poorly made, with a total lack of concern for proper playing speeds. As long as you don't mind (or won't notice), your records playing about 10% faster than they should be, and your singers sounding like they are on helium, by all means buy this product. Otherwise, look elsewhere.

I agree it's a piece of junk!,
This review is from: Crosley Rochester Entertainment Center - Paprika (CR66-PA) (Electronics)
I purchased this Crosley 4-1 unit thinking this would be great to have all units in one. I have old LPs and cassettes and CD's. I did not want to try to replace all my old music. I purchased this for Christmas 2006 and I had a little trouble with the dials and the CD player ejecting but it seemed to get better. Then when I don't use it for awhile it just seems to get worst. Now I've been trying to play my CD's and Cassettes and can't get it to work at all. You can't tell for sure sometimes if it's on because the lights don't always work either. Now I've had it for two years and I don't believe I have my receipt any longer so I'm sure they won't take it back. But I wanted to forwarn anyone thinking of getting it or anyone that has already purchased it to beware I'm sure it will not last long. I have had trouble from the start and now it's just a piece of junk.

Very happy with this system! :),

I have had this system since Christmas, so that would be about 6 months now. I agree with one previous review that the dial that switches the functions is hard to read, but I just know that the far left is radio, next is tape, then record, etc...
The sound is very good. I like how you have the option of hooking up larger speakers in the back if you have them. Also, I'm not sure what some people are talking about, mine does not play anything fast. I'm a musician, my father is a musician, I would notice it playing fast. Could just be that some of the systems aren't right, but mine works fine. Very happy to ditch all of my other clunky systems and combine into something smaller. I recommend it!

I purchased it because I wanted to play my old albums. It plays them very well, but I can also play cassettes and CD's.
I love it. I also love the look of it. I recommend this music system and it was only $100.

PIECE OF JUNK!,
By Amy Stillson "peachfuzz1978" (Fredericksburg, VA) - See all my reviews

I bought this system, at LNT, as a Christmas gift for my husband. He has been wanting a record player for years! I thought that this unit would be an excellent choice because it had the extra features of the CD player, tape player, and MP3 hook up. The first system's CD player broke, so we returned it to LNT and took home a new unit. The second unit's CD player recently broke too! Two broken systems in less than a year! That is unacceptable! LNT has a great policy! We just took it in, told them it broke, and received store credit! We will never buy from Crosley again!

Piece of Junk that the Manufacturer doesn't stand behind,
By
This review is from: Crosley Rochester Entertainment Center - Paprika (CR66-PA) (Electronics)
Seemed like a cute piece to put on my nightstand. But it took only a couple of months for the record player speed to drop below acceptable speeds. Attempts to contact the manufacturer were unreturned. Great idea for a product, too bad it wasn't executed by someone with quality control or customer satisfaction in mind.
