Husband's new toy
My husband is not a computer geek but was able to easily use the product successfully the very first time. He loves it. It may sound much like our old record players, but this is just fine for us. CDs have sounded great and have been easy to transfer

two faulty units in a rwo
I ordered the Crosley Music Writer for a Christmas gift. My son sheepishly told me that it ate a tape and that it stopped recording in the middle of an album. We tried several more times without success to record an entire album using music DVDs from Sony. We returned the unit and received a replacement that basically did the SAME THING. I'm returning it for a refund...

I ordered the Crosley Music Writer for a Christmas gift. My son sheepishly told me that it ate a tape and that it stopped recording in the middle of an album. I'm returning it for a refund and taking my son shopping for something else. Six weeks is a long time to wait for a Christmas gift. The recorder is easy to operate. Especially for a beginner. It is unfortunate that the quality of the sound is not better. However the sound is adequate when replayed. Well satisified overall.

Storing old records in the attic is not a good philosophy, so we decided to put them on CD's so we can renew the old recordings. The Crosley does it all, from old tapes (even 8 tracks) to damaged CD's. I've done about 30 records so far and really have enjoyed revisiting the past greats. I'd highly recommend this equipment to anybody.
