It's a very powerful bb gun.

Out of complete frustration and not wanting to waste my time and money returning the replacement gun, I decided to buy BBs.

I bought this gun for 40$ to mess around with my buddies in the woods. When it arrived I was disappointed to find that the stock and area around the chamber was plastic. However, I found this was not an issue and the gun was surprisingly more accurate than any of my other friends 100-200 dollar guns. Considering that this gun was only 40$ and i put a 7$ new scope on it and it shot perfectly on target consistently at 30 or so feet I am very impressed. If you are looking for a fun but cheap gun to carry in the woods, shoot cans with, kill pests, play with I would definatley recommend this!!

The guns name really is a good term to be applied to it. This is a fairly well made reliable gun that if you take care of will last a very long time. It is good for a first BB gun and general target practice. Excellent for use by kids and adults alike. The scope it comes with is actually not bad and I would recomend putting it to use. It penetrates any can from up to 40 yards away with ease. If you want increased accuracy and power splurge for pellets. But if you just want to hang out and casualy put a few hundred rounds into some beer cans then you can stick with regular old BBs. I hope this has been helpful.

Update 7/29/12: I decided to use the original scope until I buy a new one, and I discovered that it is NOT the scope pictured on the product page OR the box it came in. The packaging doesn't seem to have been tampered with so I don't know why it is different, however, I'm not going to make a huge deal about it. Just thought I would let some potential buyers know that you might not get the scope in the picture.

I bought this gun to mess around with (and to take out the evil squirrels/sparrows in my backyard) and so far I like it. Updates to this review are below.

IMPORTANT: YOU CANNOT SEE THE "VISIBLE" BB MAGAZINE IF THE SCOPE IS ATTACHED, AS IT MUST BE ATTACHED ON TOP OF THE MAGAZINE WHERE THE RAILS ARE LOCATED. You may want to purchase some sort of offset or riser to attach toward the front of the rails as this would increase visibility further back. However, in doing so, calibration of any scope attached would also have to be offset to account for this elevated adjustment.

Pre-firing review:

1. The pumping is okay, and doesn't seem to be a problem.

2. The bolt moves smoothly, and doesn't hang up at all.

3. The adjustable stock isn't too comfortable, the end is plastic; and it is hollow and thus noisy.

4. I never got the chance to test the iron sights, I installed the scope out of the packaging (no, it isn't pre-installed, you have to attach it yourself, it comes with mounts). The scope is a 4x magnification, 20mm objective scope and is dialed in at around 25-30 feet. Works fine.

5. As far as composition, the gun is mostly hard plastic, and is fairly durable. If you happen to have an accident (say, on a rooftop), and drop it, it won't break. I would know. The barrel is metal (or if not, is cleverly disguised).

This is a great bb gun. For the price it can't be beat. Crosman official site has the same one for 2 times the price. It's a very powerful bb gun. Today I shot it all the way through 9 cans. :-)

I just received this rifle today and tried it out a little in the backyard so keep that in mind when reading my review. I haven't put this product through it's paces yet so i'll update if i change my opinion. It gets 4 stars because it looks good, seems to function fine and have reasonable performance and power for it's price range. Don't pay more than the amazon price of around 40 dollars. If i had paid the around 70 dollar msrp i might not like this rifle as much. I used copperhead bb's and daisy flathead pellets today. I'll be trying the crossman pointed pellets and daisy silver bb's later. Crosman recommends in the manual to only use their products as they will have the best performance but it spit out the daisy's fine of course.

I didn't attach the scope till after i started, of course it doesn't come attached and as some reviewers pointed out the scope isn't of great quailty, the crosshairs in mine are crooked and i'll have to see if i can adjust it. the regular sights are fine, pretty good i thought. the front has a green fiber optic like sight that captured the low light well at dusk. as for loading the rifle i thought it was pretty easy even though the opening for the bb's is small, just make sure to load the main res over something that will catch the dropped bb's or load it slowly. do this with the bb retention button on the top pushed up. after u have filled some pull the button back after you close the loading gate on the stock and point the rifle down and shake, bb's will fill the visible mag on the top of the rifle. Once the mag is full push the button up so more bb's don't fill during firing. for pellets you use the included magazine, which is easy to lose but you can buy 5 packs anyway for faster reloading.
