5.0 out of 5 stars Midwests Best/ Flinttown, July 20, 2001

If you aint know the Dayton Family you really got somethin wrong with you and have been missin out. In and around Michigan they are mainstream but to the rest of the world they are underground. It's no surprise that they're first album What's on My Mind? sold 400,00 copies with 0 promotion and 0 airplay, and they're 2nd album F.B.I. went gold debuting on the billboard chart with 0 promotion and 0 airplay. It's clear that the people of flint now that tdf is no secret and is nothin but the tightest hardcore rap that there is. Well i think the secret should be out, and it comes from listening to some solos. Here we have TDF's Shoestring on his 2nd solo effort Cross Addicted. This cd is tight and definitely one of the best of 2001 (check murder dog magazine review "5 nutts out of 5" ). The production is great with Steve Pitts doing some of the tracks. It's got everything on this album. It starts with "Chevy Ride By" which is a track about ridin in da Chevy's and never in no Cutlass. then you have "Dead or Alive" which is a high paced high energy song that will just make you drive fast. "Im still a Killa" lets you know that he hasn't lost any edge, "I Cant Take it" is probably one of the best i've heard in awhile- it's a slow paced song about ghetto life and samples Peter Gabriel. "Party" is exactly what it says- a great party song. I think the albums best moment is on "What You Want to DO" whci features fellow Flinttown soldier Jake the Flake, This song is fast and high energy and really gets ur bass kickin in. Overall this cd just has everything you need in a classic album and i suggest you pick this up today. If you like this album check out Shoestrings previous solo "Representil Til The World Ends", Bootleg's solo's, and the solo from Ghetto-E.
