Ok, so I lose pens, who doesn't? I lost a very nice Mont Blanc Stuckmeister. It was a present and I liked the feel of it but strangely enough the ball point part was not as smooth as it could be and wouldn't write on some types of paper. Right now the pen is somewhere in my neighbour's yard under weeds and grass after a photo shoot of him climbing a tree to trim it. It'l turn up but for now, I needed a good replacement. Thus, the Cross Century II. I have a chrome w/gold trim version of the same pen which I use in my office. It writes very smooth and comfy but the clip is a little loose so it tended to come out of my shirt pocket so I ordered the Blue one here and found it to be every bit as superior. I've had these since my teen years and used them exclusively because they write like nothing else out there save for the old Bic fine pt. accountant and Parker T-Ball Jotter. My Royal Blue Century II came with a black fine pt. cartridge. It's good old fashioned ball pt and, really, I've yet to find anything that works as well whether med. or fine pt. I've tried fountain pens but they just don't work as well. The gels are nice but tend to run out fast. Roller balls are a bit watery. Yep, we could get into the anatomy of different ink pens but to save time, I really can recommend the Cross. What bothers me is, like so many manufacturers, they've moved their production over to China. Some of the cheaper Cross products, you find in your local office store, are downright junk. Conversely, don't let that discourage you as the finer Cross pens are still every bit as good as they used to be, still have their lifetime warranty, unless otherwise stated, and their ink cartridges last and are relatively inexpensive to replace. Every Cross product writes much better than any of the Mont Blanc several products I've used. Next to the Parker T-Ball Jotter, you can't do better. Really, nothing feels and writes like the Cross. They're a little pricey but nothing like products costing several times their value with far less quality and feel. The blue colour is very regal also. You'll treasure this pen and use it for years to come. That is, if you don't lose it like I tend to do.

I bought this pen as a birthday gift and both I and the recipient have been well pleased with it. I have owned several Cross Pens and have liked all of them. This one is slim, a beautiful shade of blue, and very lightweight. I highly recommend it.
