I read this book to my third grade class while we were doing a unit on Lewis and Clark. The students begged me not to stop each day; they couldn't wait to hear more! They were excited to hear about the main character's view of the adventures that we were reading about from other resources each day. I liked how engaging the book was, and how accurate! I highly reccomend this to any teacher who teaches Lewis and Clark history, as well as parents who would like their students to learn more about Lewis and Clark in a fun and interesting way!

My 8 year old daughter says the following: I like the book because the dog tells the story and you can find out what the dog is thinking. It was a really exciting book.
We went to the National Lewis and Clark Museum in Montana last June on a family trip, and I was happy to see my daughter pick up and enjoy this book so much. She loves dogs, so this was a fun way for her to read about a historical adventure.

This is a fun, interesting, and educational book for young kids. My kids read it in the 2nd and 3rd grades and loved it. I read it along with one of my children and found it entertaining for the adult also. I love the way it's written from a dog's perspective. This is a clever way to get kids' attention as they are learning about the Lewis and Clark expedition. I found a nice mix of entertainment and historical facts. It's a pretty easy read for a 2nd or 3rd grader, but would entertain younger children if you read it to them.
