a must-have for serious students of theology, November 5, 2006
This review is from: Cross Examinations: Readings on the Meaning of the Cross Today (Paperback)
I find this book to be scholarly and profound--well-written and above all, interesting. Just what we have been looking for in a world where "the cross" means a thousand different things.

Great title but few "cross examinations", August 2, 2007
This review is from: Cross Examinations: Readings on the Meaning of the Cross Today (Paperback)
I am not a theologian but I have read enough to know when I've been hit with a my yearly allotment of "feminist theology" Some very interesting ideas but look at the cover it says it all__ this unfortunate emphasis keeps getting in my way. (I'm sure its my problem). The editor, I feel, improperly tags Karl Barth as a Universalist to support her position. I think many would take exception .
