I'm a pen junkie and these refills are for my Cross Fountain Pen which is the best pen I've ever owned. I love it.

They are easy to use and do not leak, I would rate this product as excellent.

I originally got two packs of these cartridges when I got my first fountain pen, a Cross Century II. I didn't know much about fountain pens, so these cartridges were an easy way to get ink. The ink flows nicely and is a rich black.

I was a bit timid when I first tried to install one as I was afraid to push too hard and break my nice new pen, I thought I had pushed it in enough, but tried to write and no ink flowed, so I tried again more forcefully. After installing a few of these, I now know that you must press hard to break the ball seal that holds the ink in. Trust me, you will know if you break the seal or not.

I still have a pack and a half of these left, as I now have a converter. Not only does the converter hold more ink, but it also gives you the choice of different inks. Converters are more economical too, with these you are spending more than $0.50 per fill, when with a converter you will spend less than $0.10.

This is the same as Pelikan 4001 Black or Brilliant Black ink for fountain pens. It is not waterproof. It is not safe for writing checks. It feels good during writing, and it looks very good after it dries.
