Book Description

December 23, 2008 11 and up Gallagher Girls
After staking out, obtaining, and then being forced to give up her first boyfriend, Josh, all Cammie Morgan wants is a peaceful semester. But that's easier said than done when you're a CIA legacy and go to the premier school in the world . . . for spies.

Cammie may have a genius I.Q., but there are still a lot of things she doesn't know. Like, will her ex-boyfriend even remember she exists? And how much trouble is she really in after what happened last semester? And most of all, why is her mother acting so strangely?

Despite Cammie's best intentions to be a normal student, danger seems to follow her. She and her friends learn that their school is going to play host to some mysterious guests--code name: Blackthorne. Then she's blamed for a security breach that leaves the school's top secret status at risk.

Soon, Cammie and her friends are crawling through walls and surveilling the school to learn the truth about Blackthorne and clear Cammie's name. Even though they have confidence in their spy skills, this time the targets are tougher (and hotter), and the stakes for Cammie's heart--and her beloved school--are higher than ever.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hearts and Hopes January 5, 2008
Format:Hardcover
In I'D TELL YOU I LOVE YOU, BUT THEN I'D HAVE TO KILL YOU, readers were welcomed to the Gallagher Academy, an all-girls school that is known for its emphasis on academics. What outsiders don't know is the school is actually training the young ladies to become spies. Gallagher Girls are trained in the martial arts, taught "real" history, learn political secrets, and are multilingual.

The second book, CROSS MY HEART AND HOPE TO SPY, the second book in the series, picks up shortly after the first book. Cammie Morgan and the other Gallagher students know how their school operates and are used to it being an all-girl campus. When guys from the Blackthorne Institute come to share their studies and their teachers, some of the girls get distracted while others get suspicious. Cammie is a bit of both camps. She appreciates the fact that the guy spies are smart and savvy, but she doesn't trust them. She kind of got off on the wrong foot with Zach, one of the spy-guys, and she can't stop thinking about Josh.

She also thinks her new schoolmates are hiding something -- and they might not be the only ones. Old photographs and overheard conversations make Cammie question her father's schooling and spy work. Will she ever find out what really happened to him?

When push comes to shove, the Gallagher Girls are here to save the day - and maybe have some fun along the way. CROSS MY HEART will please fans of the first Gallagher Girls novel. All of the books have a fun mix of spies, lies, and romance that pleases tweens, teens, and adults. Make sure to read the books in order:

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is AMAZING! October 23, 2007
By Kristin
Format:Hardcover
Seriously, Ally Carter has out done herself with "Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy"!
I started reading the book around 7 or 8 PM and stay up until 12 PM finishing it. I could not put it down even though I told myself many times, "Put down the book. It will be there tomorrow." It was just too addicting.
"Cross My Heart..." picks off where Ally Carter's first book "I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You" (now called LYKY) ends. After a hard winter break, Cammie's back at Gallagher Academy. She's still hurting from a break-up she did not want to happen and worried about CoveOp, her most challenging class. Loads of action happens during the 250 or so pages. I wish I could tell you more, but I'd ruin the entire book for you guys.
My mind is still reeling from finishing the book. It leaves you with some answers but even more questions.
If you haven't gotten a hold of the book yet, GO NOW!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Spys are back and sneakier than ever! March 25, 2008
Format:Hardcover
So... We are back at the Gallagher Academy, a secret spy school for girls, and we are reunited with all together almost-perfect spy, Cammie Morgan. Cammie's mother is the school principal, her father died on a secret mission, and a new teacher (Mr. Solomon) seems to be a little too familiar with Cammie's family. We start out the book with Cammie being tested to make sure that she will stay away and not communicate with "The Subject" aka Josh. Through the begining of the book we are taking part in weird happenings at the academy and then we are trying to find out what BLACKTHORNE really is. Once we find out that Blackthorne is a secret spy school for BOYS (thanks to Cammie's EXCELENT spywork) we also find out that the Blackthorne boys are coming to Gallagher and we don't know if they are there to stay. Cammie is introduced to a Blackthorne boy named Zach who seems to take a very strong interest in Cammie and becomes VERY suspicious. Cammie runs into Josh on a mission with Zach and leads him to believe that Zach is her Boyfriend. Bex, Liz and Massie all come back and are better friends then ever! Altogether, in the end of the day... it's a TRUE spy ending that you don't want to miss out on. Will Cammie be with Zach again? Will Cammie go back to Josh? Does Josh REALLY not remember Cammie's BIGGEST secret? We won't know FOR SURE unless we read this and it still keeps us guessing and waiting for Gallagher Girls book three to come out! Have fun!
I loved this book and i hope everyone else will too! Be sure to read it, the worst that will happen is that you won't like it ( yeah right!) and you can just put it down! This book deserves its five stars! I was worried that it wouldn't be as good as the first book but i was proven wrong! For ANY age.
I hope you enjoyed my review! Check out my others!

Josh or Zach?
I actually really, really, really love Zach!
For some reason, Josh seems almost too nice, cute, and sweet to be real...like he's the PERFECT boyfriend. I loved him in LYKY, but by CMH, Zach had me.
I don't know...I guess the little bickerings between Zach and Cammie made me really like him. Plus,... Read more
